I am at the Northeast Regional Getaway for Special Touch. Keep us in prayer for mighty move of God.
Mission Netherlands #missions # missionaries #funding
Hello WordPress followers. My sister Brenda is a missionary to the Netherlands. She is currently home itinerating (raising funds for the mission). She has a little over 3,000.00 in monthly support to raise plus a sizeable cash budget. She needs a financial miracle. She needs to have the funding raised and be back in the Netherlands by November. We are believing with her that God is big enough to get this miracle done.
Here are some ways you can help:
- PRAY SPECIFICALLY THAT GOD WOULD GET BRENDA BACK TO THE NETHERLANDS ON OR BEFORE NOVEMEBER
- SHARE THIS POST WITH YOUR NETWORKS. THE MORE VIEWS THE LARGER THE PROSPECTIVE GIVING BASE
- GIVE. THE VIDEO ABOVE EXPLAINS BRENDA’S MISSION AND HOW TO GIVE TO GET TO HER WEBSITE TO GIVE.
- IF YOU ARE A PASTOR IN: MA,CT, RI, NH, VT, ME, NY NJ OR AL CONSIDER HAVING BRENDA IN. SHE ONLY HAS TWO MORE SUNDAY MORNINGS BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER BUT SHE HAS SUNDAY NIGHTS FREE AND WEDNESDAYS AND IS OPEN TO PARTICIPATING IN MISSION CONVENTIONS. SHE IS ALSO A DRAMA TRAINER AND DOES WORKSHOPS TO HELP LAUNCH DRAMA MINISTRIES OR TRAIN EXISTING ONES
WOULD YOU CONSIDER HELPING?
The Sweet Sufficiency of Jesus
A must read for all who seek Christ in these days!
You know, the further I travel along this Christ-following journey, the more I’m persuaded there’s just one overwhelming priority for the Bride of Christ in this late hour.
There is no shortage of prophetic voices proclaiming numerous messages in the name of Christ: messages about the end times, spiritual warfare, cities and nations, world events, the economy, and other things that seek to occupy our minds and thoughts. But unless those prophetic messages have been received and wrestled with in the furnace of God’s consuming love they do little more than add more noise into the confusing chaos of the world around us.
Like many other Christ followers who watch and pray, I am aware of the signs of the times, the clash of the Kingdom of God with earthly kingdoms currently taking place. Beyond that watchfulness, though, there is an even deeper conviction that the Spirit is calling the…

Share Your Wourld 2015 Week 33
It’s that time of the week again folks. Here I am answering our hostess Cee’s five questions so that you can share in a part of my world.
Check out what others have shared HERE.
And here are the questions and my answers.
What are some words that just make you smile?
I love words period. But some of the words that make me smile are: hoi palloi, hoity toity, cattywhompus, and a word that my family uses to refer to bad drivers on the road that probably should not make me smile but just does…yep I’m going to leave you guessing what that word is. Maybe someday you will drive with one of my family members and discover it but until then…
You’re given $500,000 dollars tax free (any currency), what do you spend it on?
Getting my sister back to Holland for her mission work and fixing up the house.
What subject would you like to study in depth, if given the time to do so?
I would love more time to study the art of writing effectively.
Would your rather be stuck in a small plane with bad turbulence for 2 hours or be a passenger in a car racing the Daytona 500?
Daytona 500 no contest. I have been stuck in a turbulent flight and that was no fun. I thought the wings were going to flap right off the plane.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful I got to spend some wonderful time with my son before he left for South Korea to begin his teaching career. Next week I am looking forward to preaching the chapel services for The Special Touch Northeast Regional Getaway in the Berkshires.

The last breakfast with Grammy Lillie and Aunt Brenda.

Contemplating the rain.
Sunday Sermon Quotes 8-16-2015
Here are some quotes from yesterday’s sermon delivered by Pastor Brad Hackett. Which one speaks the most to your heart?
“It’s hard to pedal a bike with just one pedal.”-
“Know the Word. Do the Word.”
Out of your identity comes your activity.”
“God says, ‘Because I love you work from my love.'”
” A proud heart is unable to receive a good gift.”
“We sometimes turn Christianity into something we can study instead of something we can become.”
“Jesus studied but Jesus got stuff done.”
Don’t just know stuff. Do stuff.”
“Some of us live under condemnation because all we hear is accusation.”
Run Away!
Great thoughts about dealing with temptation.
When I was younger, I used to love running with my cross-country teams during each practice. It provided an incentive to beat the old” guy and encouraged them to get the best out of themselves (If coach is able to do this, then I should be able to.). We were fortunate that the area surrounding our school provided a plethora of woodland trails on which we could train. One year, we actually did a different workout for each practice for the entire season.
One time in particular, we were running through the woods during bow hunting season. To avoid the danger of an errant arrow we would make a lot of noise. None of my runners were hunters and didn’t want to become one later in life. So they would run through the woods shouting, “Run away! Run Away!” in high-pitched falsetto voices-ala an old Monte Python skit. We thought…

An Ear To Heaven
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” Rev 2:17
There are many voices speaking in the world these days. Some cry peace and safety. Others cry murder and mayhem. The truth is both voices are probably half right. This world has always, since, the fall been a mixture of peace and murder…safety and mayhem. Even the Tribulation will have a mixture of the two things albeit increasingly heavy on the murder and mayhem side.
I know many brothers and sisters in the faith who are glued to the world news sources hoping to figure out what is coming when. I can’t say I blame them. I do a fair amount of world news watching and comparative Scripture study to find the prophetic match-ups myself. I think there is a certain amount of wisdom in keeping one ear to the ground, so to speak. However, if one ear is to the ground the other needs to be kept keenly tuned to the sound of Heaven. You see an ear to the ground can only tell us how things are. In the days ahead we won’t need to listen very hard to figure out how things are. What we will need to listen for is how God wants us to be in the midst of how things are and what God wants to do in the midst of how things are. You see our role as the people of God is to hear the voice of God, the commands of God and to come into agreement with them. Sometimes that will require us to sacrifice. Sometimes agreement will call us to take up our authority. And always it will cause us to hope.

Quotes & Discussions About Community Pt. 2
Leaders in the past could not make decisions because they had too little information. Leaders in the future will be unable to make decisions because the will have too much information. Editing and efficiently accessing truly relevant information will be a key challenge in the future.- The Community Of the Future p. 102
