WPC: Rise/Set

It is so Appropos that this week’s WPC is RISE and SET. While The Daily Post is asking for shots of sunrise and sunset, I think the fact that the post is set on the weekend of the greatest rising of all is just wonderful!

Here are some of my sunrises and sunsets:

No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments, and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the Resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good. Josh McDowell

Concord 1

The Resurrection is at the core of our beliefs as Christians. Without it, our faith is meaningless. Joseph B. Wirthlin

The Resurrection miracle is nothing to you and me if it is only an event of eighteen centuries bygone. Unless we can live the immortal life – unless we can receive God to his own home in these hearts of ours – the texts are nothing to us unless these daily lives illustrate them. Edward Everett Hale

Now here are some more powerful sunrises and sunsets

Morning Direction From Scripture 3-29-18

Concord 1

Let not those who seek You be confounded because of me, O God of Israel.
Because for Your sake I have borne reproach;
Shame has covered my face.
I have become a stranger to my brothers,
And an alien to my mother’s children;
Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up,
And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me. Psalm 69:6-9

Do we suffer more reproach for being connected to God or for our own behavior?

Morning Direction From Scripture 3-24-18

Concord 1

Let not those who seek You be confounded because of me, O God of Israel.
Because for Your sake I have borne reproach;
Shame has covered my face.
I have become a stranger to my brothers,
And an alien to my mother’s children;
Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up,
And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me. Psalm 69:6-9

Is it a good thing to have zeal for the Lord’s house to eat you up?

WPC: Favorite Place

This week The Daily Post has asked us to share pictures of our FAVORITE PLACES.

I thought this would be an easy one but oh my! Not so much. I love so many places for different reasons.

I think aside from my office my prayer room is the place where I spend the most time. It’s a place of reflection and divine connection, a place of vision and centering.

But I also love to travel and see things.

Disney is a favorite place to go and be pampered.

I love the antiquated beauty of The Netherlands.

I love the wild loneliness of Ireland.

I have so many places that are favorites for different reasons, but there is one place I have not yet been that I just know will surpass them all.

Share Your World Feb. 19,2018

share-your-world2

It has been a wonderful and long week. God has been good and I am tired, but oh so glad to be sharing my world again. SHARE YOUR WORLD   is a weekly challenge hosted by Cee of Cee’s Photography. By answering her weekly questions a whole bunch of us bloggers share our worlds.

When you have finished reading my responses to Cee’s questions click the underlined link above and see how others have shared their worlds.

What is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory is a very vivid recurring nightmare I had  when I was about three or four. We were living in a grey Victorian home that had been converted into a duplex. The house was built into a very steep hillside and I can remember that the house had terraces that were covered with tiger lilies.

Anyway many nights my parents would put me to bed and I would “dream” that a ghost with a big nose wearing a Hawaiian shirt would come through the wall and sit upon me crushing the air out of my lungs.

To this day the house still creeps me out when I drive by it.

Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?

Sideways.

What makes you feel grounded?

Praying to Jesus.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Having some good laughs with my best friend Jody and with my new friend Pastor Dan.
