Share Your World 5-27-19

I am coming her to today TO SHARE MY WORLD. This is the writing challenge from Melanie at Sparkfromacombustiblemind, in which she asks several questions and in answering them, we her contributors share our worlds with all of you.

Here are this week’s questions and my answers:

Do you consider yourself a pessimist or an optimist?

Let’s put it this way. I am learning to not kill my dreams with my own negativity. What does that make me?

Can War ever be just?

Yes war can be just. That doesn’t mean war isn’t horrible or full of darkness. This is a fallen world where innocence has been lost. In such a place, justice sometimes wears the mask of our worst nightmares.

Think about the people you love most in your life, what do you do for them?

I hope I serve them well.

Are you health conscious?

I am conscious that I need to take better care of my health. I am trying that…exercising, drinking more water, watching what I eat. Trying not to give into cookie stress all of that.

Gratitude, Thankfulness, Wonder, Awe and Joy!

This is the space where you share, if you’d like to, something that falls into those categories.

I am grateful to God for visiting us in Wednesday night prayer service last night. The presence of God was glorious.

Mid Afternoon Meditation 5-30-19

Why have you broken down its walls
    so that all who pass by pick its grapes?
13 Boars from the forest ravage it,
    and insects from the fields feed on it.
14 Return to us, God Almighty!
    Look down from heaven and see!
Watch over this vine,
15     the root your right hand has planted,
    the son[e] you have raised up for yourself.

16 Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire;
    at your rebuke your people perish.
17 Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand,
    the son of man you have raised up for yourself.
18 Then we will not turn away from you;
    revive us, and we will call on your name.

19 Restore us, Lord God Almighty;
    make your face shine on us,
    that we may be saved. Psalm 80:12-19

Why does God sometimes have to break down our defensive walls? Aren’t we supposed to keep our defenses up?
