SKywatch Friday 8-29-14

Meadow Skies

Once again I am posting my Skywatch Friday on Saturday. But this week it is not because I am running behind but because it is expedient. I am actually writing at 2 A.M. on Wednesday morning getting all my posts for next week done since I am going to be away at Special Touch Ministry’s New England Getaway leading worship. I don’t imagine I will have a whole lot of time to post from the Berkshires. I will follow up on comments when I return. 🙂

Calm in the Midst of Utter Persecution and Spiritual Attacks

This is from:Beth Fisher –

I thought it worthy of a reblog.

Word of God Speak

“Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble,
And He brings them out of their distresses.
He calms the storm,
So that its waves are still.
Then they are glad because they are quiet;
So He guides them to their desired haven.
~ Psalm 107:28-30 (NKJV)

Coming from someone who was one of the worst “controllers” and “worriers”, I can’t begin to explain the pure rest and pleasure that comes from, in the midst of being attacked, resting solely in the God-ship of our Lord and Savior.  Knowing that He is in control and that the ultimate result will bring Him glory (if we let it), lends a brand new peace, joy, and sense of contentment, as Paul said (Philippians 4:11), in every situation.

I will not go into the details of these attacks, that is not necessary.  They have been in various forms on many fronts.

Prophetical Priestly Quotes 13

100_4624

“One of the purposes of prayer is to allow its participants to transcend the nagging particulars of life that normally preoccupy us. Prayer allows ordinary people to become players in much larger stakes; Washington, the United Nations, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and the totality of the world. There is a time for prayer to address immediate and  local problems, even Uncle Larry’s lumbago and Aunt Gertrude’s gout. Prayer can petition God to cure many of our aches and pains. But I suspect that what prayer really needs to do is displace our self-serving agendas with more critical concerns.” Darius L. Salter

Share Your World 2014 Week 34

share-your-world2

This post was created for Cee’s Share Your World forum. When you finish here check out how others are sharing their world at

http://ceenphotography.com/2014/08/25/share-your-world-2014-week-34/

Here are the five share your world questions for the week.

What is your favorite smell? What memory does it remind you of?

I love the smell of cilantro. It reminds me of my grandmother for some reason. It is not like she ever cooked with cilantro. I didn’t even know what cilantro was until I was a grown up but the first time I smelled it I got the strongest mental picture of her.

Name a song or two which are included on the soundtrack to your life?

Do you play video/computer game?  Which one(s) or most recent?

Oh Heavens no. I am so bad at them; Playing video games is bad for my psyche.

Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best?  Plus what would the 8th dwarf’s name be? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey)

I always wanted to be Doc. I think the eigth dwarf would have to be Lumpy a chronically clutzy dwarf.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful that last week I got the opportunity to do the communion service at the Gardner Visiting Nurses Dayhab. This monthly service is so full of life and hope. And to think a year ago I was going to stop volunteering there. God stopped me from quitting at the midnight hour.

I am looking forward to Special Touch Ministries New England Getaway next week.

Satan wants you in church…

The difference between religion and relationship.

Oh So Simple Truths

…To read your bible.

…To join a small group.

…To go on a missions trip.

…To go to Bible College.

…To find the man/woman of your dreams.

…To find the cure for cancer.

…To be blessed beyond measure.

…To give to charity.

…To find your dream job.

…To lose weight.

…To get strong.

…To teach others how to be healthy.

…To take care of the planet.

…To love your life.

…if…

What could the reason be that Satan would want you to do all these seemingly good and Godly things? Isn’t he evil and trying to get us to not do those things? Your wrong Brad, Satan wouldn’t want me to do any of those things, God wants me to do all those things!

Slow your roll playa’, let me explain something.

There are too many people who think they are doing good things, and while in themselves they are…

After you have viewed my thoughts on it, go and see what her other subscribers have portrayed.

“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say”
