Art is the imposing of a pattern on experience, and our aesthetic enjoyment is recognition of the pattern.
This week Jennifer from O.W.P.C. has invited us to pick our own type of weather to show in our One Word Photo. I have chosen to show “Mixed”. I love how the storm coming across the water seems to be chasing the sun away.

It’s Fun Foto time again. This week it is all about things painted. My mind immediately went to C.cada when I saw this challenge and all the painting we do as an artist’s collaborative.
Our mission statement for C.cada is…
C.cada (Cornerstone Christian artist’s day apart) was begun in an effort to give artists from every genre an opportunity to come together to discover, develop, and deploy their talents in ways that will better the church and the community.
To that end writers write, singers sing, musicians play and painters paint.

I have a really odd one to offer
This statue can be found at the Fruitlands Museum in Acton MA. It is called “Prayer of Rana”, which means “prayer of the king”. I don’t know what this says about prayer or about kings but it is definitely odd.
Ailsa has asked us to be LUMINOUS in our displays this week.

Lapping at the dock
As my daughter dangles
Her feet in the midnight blue
Of a summer lake.
Walden Pond
It’s a walk around the block
With my little dogs
And a grey rock
Steeple reaching for the blue heavens
On an autumn day.
Kylemore Abbey
As the moon sings
Her cyclic songs
Over all the world
I forget if only for now
That the world is loud.
It’s the swish of shovels.
Snow piled high,
Plows hold the world hostage.
And I am in
A season of rest.
