This is the final installment of our series transcript from last Sunday’s sermon at Cornerstone. If you have missed any of the previous installments they can be found HERE.

Here is our conclusion to the discussion.

The final step towards becoming the church God desires for this time belongs to a group of people called the elders. This is once again from the word I received a week ago.

Elders you are called to mentor a generation in a Pentecost they have never seen, known or experienced. I summon you to bear witness of the times you recall that a new generation may know the way.

You may be old. You may be tired. But if you have seen the past moves of Pentecost in the healing revivals of the 50’s, the Charismatic renewal of the 70’s or the worship revivals of the 80’s 90’s and early millenium, then you must dig back and speak to the power of miracle that you have witnessed because there are little children and young men and women in this church who have never witnessed the power of a move of God.When it comes they won’t understand or know how to tell the real from the fake, the charlatans from legitimate or the wild fire from the Holy fire. You, elders, are being called to speak for them and to them unafraid and undeterred, helping the church to chew the meat of revival and spit out the bones without complaining or creating dissension or fostering unbelief.

Everyone of us who consider ourselves part of the church have a step or a part to play in the revival to come. What is your step?

1.Do you need to be born again? Have you asked Jesus to be your Savior and have you made Him God of your life? Jesus won’t be just a Savior. If He is to save you then He has to be boss of your life too. Have you asked Him to be both? If not then you are not born again yet. If you need to be born again by accepting Jesus as Lord and savior. Hero and boss then  pray the prayer found HERE from your heart

2. Do you need to ask God’s help to clean up your act Christian? Are there things you need Jesus to help you fix in your life so that you don’t get burned when the fire of revival comes into the church?

3. Do you need power from on high to help you perform the work God wants you to do? Then Jesus says you need the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Don’t worry about what all that means right now just acknowledge that whatever the baptism in the Holy Spirit is you need it because Jesus says you do.

4.Are you someone who has been in Pentecost for a long time? Have you seen the Holy Spirit move in revival before? Then acknowledge your role in helping those who haven’t seen.

I would love to hear more about the step you are on in the conspiracy!

You’re Part Of the Conspiracy Pt. 4

IMG_20140610_104549-006

This series is a transcript of the most recent sermon I shared at Cornerstone Church. Yesterday we concluded with Scriptures that asserted the need for every person to put their faith in Christ to forgive their sins and cause them to be born again. If you read that and have been thinking that you need to be born again, let’s stop before we go one word further and pray for that.

Pray with me: Dear Lord Jesus. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank you for rising from the dead to break the power death has over me. Lord I know I need to be born again and in order for that to happen I need to believe in you and make you the God of my life. Lord Jesus I do believe in you and ask you to forgive my sins and I give you my life. You are my only God. I will follow you from now on. Thank you for forgiving me and causing me to be born again so that I might live for eternity with You.  Amen!

Now if you just prayed that prayer and meant it you are born again. Please message me in the comments section below so that we can begin a conversation about next steps.

If you have missed any of our previous conversations in this series they can be found HERE.

As we stated yesterday, being Born Again is the first step. It is saying yes to being part of the conspiracy. But remember I said there were four parts to being part of the conspiracy. Part two is about living Holy.

Little children you must be clean that my fire does not burn you up. (reference Pt. 2 for whole prophecy)

We must choose, once we are born again, to leave our sin behind. We are praying for a move of God. In Scripture the move is sometimes referred to as fire of God . That fire will burn up everything that is not holy when it comes even if that something is us. Revival is nothing to be trifled with. It is the move of God, and for the church’s part it requires right living.

For instance, in Scripture we read:

Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. 2As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. 5But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.

7The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. 8Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen…. 17For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God I Peter 4:1-11,17

In another place Paul, the apostle wrote, “Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 2Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved usa and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. 3Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. 4Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. 5You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.6Don’t be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. 7Don’t participate in the things these people do. 8For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.” Ephesians 5:2-9

Listen to me, this is not a word of condemnation. It is a word of encouragement. God isn’t saying “Because some of these things are in your life you are not good enough for My plan.”

He is saying, “I have already determined that you are good enough for my plan. I want you to be a part of my plan but in order for you to be a part you must get rid of these things and I will help you. If anything on this list pertains to you God is crying out to you. Let’s fix it together so that you are ready when I move in power.”

Come back tomorrow for part 5.

You’re Part Of the Conspiracy Pt. 3

IMG_20140610_104549-006

We continue this morning with our transcript from Sunday morning’s sermon entitled, “You’re Part Of the Conspiracy” If you have missed either of our previous portions they can be found HERE.

Here is part three of our sermon discussion:

If we determine to be the church that will fulfill God’s plans in these last days we must individually respond in at least one of four ways depending on our position in the church ( Little child, young man or elder SEE PART TWO FOR A REFRESHER)

Today I want to start speaking to the little children.

“Little Children”, in order to answer the call we must come to know God’s Son, Jesus Christ. God wants to involve us all in His plan but before we can even be a part of the plan we must be a part of the church. I am not talking about joining church membership  through some class taught by the church. Being a part of the church involves a step before that. The church is not those who have gone through church membership class. The church in Scripture is defined as those who have been born again and who have been given eternal life.

In John Chapter 3, Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth truth, unless you are born again,a you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”4“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?”5Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.b 6Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.c 7So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘Youd must be born again.’

You see, when humans are born we are born as living beings. Our flesh, heart, lungs and stomachs are alive and our souls, our mind, will and emotions are alive; But humans are triune beings. We are body, soul and spirit. Jesus and Paul explained this in their teachings that when children are born their bodies and souls are alive but because of sin, which is now part of the DNA makeup their spirits, the part  that connects to God and Heaven is dead.

Without living spirits we cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven or be part of the plan of God. So being born again or having a second birth a spiritual birth is necessary. That is done by putting our faith in Jesus’ death on the cross and in His resurrection from the dead and by making Him the only God of our lives. When we do that Jesus forgives our sins and resurrects our spirits to life.

Here are some Scriptural proofs for these assertions:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned,but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Rom. 3:23

 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a]Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 6:23

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom. 10:9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph. 2:8-10

You’re Part Of the Conspiracy Pt. 2

We are continuing today with the transcript from Sunday’s sermon YOU’RE PART OF THE CONSPIRACY. If you missed part 1 you have only to click on the underlined link and you can catch up there.

Here is Pt. 2

Last week God gave me a prophetic word during second service concerning our involvement in this plan. The word went something like this:

The Lord says I am raising up a generation in these last days and I speak to it. It is not a generation of age or years but a generation of dedication. I speak to it in total not in part, to every age, not a portion or age group.

I speak to you little children for you have just come to know My Son and there is a great journey ahead of you, but I have given you strength for it.

I speak to you young men for you have overcome the evil one but there is much more for you to do. There is much more for you to overcome and you are just coming into your strength.

I speak to you elders and fathers for I am not finished with you yet.

I am about to fall in fire again. Little children you must be clean that my fire does not burn you up. Young men you must prepare that you may harness my fire and use it to light the darkness. Elders you are called to mentor a generation in a Pentecost they have never seen, known or experienced. I summon you to bear witness of the times you recall that a new generation may know the way.

This fire will inconvenience you. It will be uncomfortable. It will be as it was in the past when it cost your forefathers everything to bear the light, but they paid the price so that my Son’s name would be known.

You must not say I am too young or too busy or too old. For I am calling those who are too young and too busy and too old to put aside their youth and their schedules and their age that one last time my Son’s name will be made great in the Earth before the judgment.

Will this be the church? Will this be the generation who answers my call?

Well if we will there are four ways we must answer the call…More tomorrow!

The Road Through Romans: Faithfulness

100_5431

We are continuing our study through the Book of Romans. Currently we are in Romans 1:20 speaking to the invisible qualities or attributes of God. If you have missed any of our conversations on this subject you can catch up with them on THE ROAD THROUGH ROMANS PAGE.

Romans 1:20 reads,

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

We have spoken to God’s: Wisdom, Infinitude, Sovereignty,  Holiness, Trinity and Omniscience.

Today we are speaking to God’s faithfulness. Watch this.

But where does creation display God’s faithfulness? In lots of places. Faithfulness itself is the idea that God functions according to certain character traits that do not change. These traits make God dependable or faithful. Because God is like this He has set in motion a creation that also operates according to certain “character traits” or laws that do not change. For instance:

The law of gravity is something we can depend on. What goes up must come down.

The law of seed time and harvest is something we can depend on. Summer will follow winter. Winter will follow summer and so on and so on…

The creation reveals to us that the character of the One behind it must be steady and faithful.

The Road Through Romans: Omniscience

100_5431

Today we are going to pick back up on a thread we dropped a few weeks ago. That is our verse by verse study through the Book of Romans. If you need to refresh on what we were speaking about you can find those conversations on THE ROAD THROUGH ROMANS PAGE.

Today we are dealing once again with one of the invisible qualities of God that are revealed in the creation. As Romans 1:20 says,

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

We have so far spoken about God’s: Holiness, Infinitude, Wisdom, Sovereignty and Trinity.

Today we are going to be speaking about God’s omniscience. That is the fact that God knows everything. Watch this.

The Word of God testifies to God’s all-knowingness in many places. Psalm 139 for instance:

“You have searched me, Lord,

and you know me.

2You know when I sit and when I rise;

you perceive my thoughts from afar.

3You discern my going out and my lying down;

you are familiar with all my ways.

4Before a word is on my tongue

you, Lord, know it completely.

5You hem me in behind and before,

and you lay your hand upon me.

6Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,

too lofty for me to attain.

7Where can I go from your Spirit?

Where can I flee from your presence?

8If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

9If I rise on the wings of the dawn,

if I settle on the far side of the sea,

10even there your hand will guide me,

your right hand will hold me fast.

11If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me

and the light become night around me,”

12even the darkness will not be dark to you;

the night will shine like the day,

for darkness is as light to you.

13For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

15My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place,

when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.

16Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.”

Beyond the testimony of the Bible, though, a careful consideration of the creation itself testifies to God’s omniscience.

If we consider that the world and the universe were created by God we must come to the conclusion that He must understand all He has created in order to create it. Creation as an act, in all its wonder, demands not just a superior intellect but nothing short of the knowledge of all that was and is and ever shall be.

Q&Q

Hey there folks! Here is a challenge for all my Sunday readers. Every Sunday I will post one quip or quote that struck me during the week. You can join along in the quipping and quoting. Here is what to do:

Publish a post of your own, using one quip or quote that grabbed you during the week. You can add a picture to it if you like or even photograph the quote from it’s source.

Link back to my post

You can include the Pastor Wrinkle’s Q& Q photo in your post if you think my mug worthy of your blog.

This week I had so many great quotes to choose from I had a hard time narrowing it down to one, but the quote that has kept resonating in my soul all week is from my lead pastor Barry Risto.

“Sometimes serving God can be a painful privilege.”

Directions From Morning Scripture: 2-9-16

img_20160202_073953.jpg

Today my morning devotional Scripture came through one of the devotions I am reading, David Nasser’s, A Call To Die.

The Scripture that I got stuck on and meditated on for some time was  Romans 6:16

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

What are the differences between being a slave to sin and being a slave to righteousness? Make a list for yourself.

The Road Through Romans: Trinity

INFINITUDEWe are continuing our discussion through the attributes of God which are displayed in creation according to Romans 1:20 , which says, “20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

So far we have discussed God’s

WISDOM

INFINITUDE

SOVEREIGNTY

AND HIS HOLINESS

If you missed those discussions just click on the links:

Today we are discussing GOD’S TRINITY.

We see the trinity described in nature in: The egg, The shamrock and perhaps best in our own selves. As a human I am one being in three parts. I have a body, I have a mind, will and emotional center which I call my soul and there is  third part of my being which transcends logic, will and emotion and touches on the unseen realm. That I call my spirit.

Here to help us understand it all a bit better is Buffalo Herd:
