An Encouragement To Do Your Work

This came from Ken one of our artist managers at C.cada

Hello everyone,

Check out the website to see when our future meetings will be and what special projects are planned.  With the January meeting cancelled, a quarter of a year has already passed since our last art show.  With the busyness of the holidays, many of us have spent little to no time on new art projects.  Let me encourage each of you to plan to finish at least one project per quarter until the next art show.  This would give each of us at least 3 pieces to display.  That’s 90 days for each project, including 3 CCADA workshops for each month.  God gave us abilities in various degrees.  I’m thinking He wants each of us to utilize those talents to the best of our individual abilities.  Ask Him to show you how to make time to discover, develop, and deploythose talents.  When you bless Him with your best, He blesses your best and makes it better.  To help keep us on track, we have scheduled a “show and tell” for our meetings in April and July—where we will share whatever work we have done up until that point with the other members of CCADA.  Remember that this could include any artwork, photography, writing, or music.  Let’s encourage each other by creating and sharing our ideas and efforts.

C.cada and Neotony

This week Ken has written about Neotony. Read on here for this powerful blog about keeping our creativity alive and why Jesus wants that…

Artist’s Soul

Our church administrator, Charlotte Dorais, is retiring at the end of the year. Today we are honoring her  at our staff Christmas party. Charlotte has served in just about every ministry I have had oversight of through the years I have known her. Her love for Jesus has called her to take up posts outside her comfort zone many times. I just know that love for her God is going to lead her on to even greater adventures now.

She was one of my adult champions when I led the youth ministry (we called ourselves “the Beyonders”). She has worked as a shut-in visitor for the Compassion Ministry and as an artist manager for C.cada. She has been an untiring intercessor and a woman always willing to lend a hand in practical ministry. She is an incredible artist as well as an able administrator. Above all she is a committed friend.

Thank you Charlotte for your love for God and his church. I have written this two stanza Cinquain in your honor. It is entitled

Artist’s Soul

by JE Lillie

Artist’s

Soul, disciplined

By the brush of prayer.

Colors careful mixed until God

Brings forth

Artist’s

Strength, directed

Unafraid of future

Steps into the blank canvas called

His plan.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Anything Painted

cees-fun-foto

It’s Fun Foto time again. This week it is all about things painted. My mind immediately went to C.cada when I saw this challenge and all the painting we do as an artist’s collaborative.

Our mission statement for C.cada is…

C.cada (Cornerstone Christian artist’s day apart) was begun in an effort to give artists from every genre an opportunity to come together to discover, develop, and deploy their talents in ways that will better the church and the community.

To that end writers write, singers sing, musicians play and painters paint.
