A NEW FACE FOR AN OLD BLOGGER

Posted on February 6, 2013 by

Welcome to “Lillie-Put”! This blog is a new face for an old blogger. If you have followed my last bit on “Reinventing the We’ll”, you will know that after three years, the time has come for a face-lift, a reinvention if you will.

So much has changed for me during my three years of writing “RTW”: I have  retired from youth pastoring. My  kids have grown up and spread their wings. I have become  single (that’s not an advertisement by the way I am strictly a one- life-one-wife guy) and since “Reinventing the I’ll” doesn’t have the same ring I thought…”Let’s just start over”.

So since this blog will be all about my take on: life, God, ministry, art, travel and writing I thought you might like to know that this is how “Lillie-Put” it.

The pages are simply organized:

Pastor Wrinkles Page(or as we say it in New England Pastah Wrinkles) will bring you to all my devotional and ministry articles including: Chapter Charts and sermons.

the C.cada Page will keep you up to date on our artist’s community here in Winchendon MA.

The Stories Pagewill let you travel along on all my writing escapades.

The For Family & Fun Page will take you to all the doings in the Lillie household as well as all the fun stuff I am doing with my blogging friends.

And finally…

The Travel and Photography Pages…  do you really need the explanation?

I hope you have a great time wandering around Lillie-Put. Come anytime I’ll leave a lantern burning!

  1. Hi Pastor J. I have a question for you, since I know you just got back from the Netherlands. If you get a chance please email me at ceeneuner@wbcable.net. I got an email from a magazine in the Netherlands and they want a photo of mine and I want to make sure it is a real magazine. Thanks ever so much.

    • I am glad you were able to find me. No you were accurate in your assessment. I am still a pastor but I am no longer married. Shortly after I began “Reinventing the We’ll” my wife of twenty three years left me. We have navigated some dark waters these last years. She is now remarried but I am convicted by God that my vows were until death do us part so even though she has moved on…even though I have moved on, my moving on will not involve someone else. I am “a one-life-one-wife” being (this is for me and my walk not for everybody). Changing blogs just seemed appropriate under the circumstances.

  2. I respect you greatly Pastor J for your Honesty and your commitment to your Marriage vows, you are indeed a faithful man of God, so many would benefit by your sharing your stand for the Lord’s Truth and guidelines. But I grieve for you too because I know and understand how abandonment causes great hurt, regardless of how it happened or who caused it. Sometimes we are not free to share and sometimes not even why we can’t but we do not walk alone, God knows and understands and feels our pain as His own. During my trials God gave me some Scripture to hold onto, I hope it will also comfort you , He told me in my heart to share it often and I do, of course there is more and I will share these too when needed.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Christian Love from us both – Anne

    • Thanks Anne, God is good and He has been true to His word every step of my journey. He never lets us go and His power to heal and reconcile are beyond comprehension. I can honestly say today that He has turned my mourning into dancing. There are days where sorrow and loss still touch the core of my being but on those days God is with me in a very real and powerful way walking with me. My wife and I have made our peace.

  3. Mr. Lillie,
I found you at Kate Kresse’s site, where you recently left a comment. Just wanted to let you know your name is still linked to your other site. Perhaps you intended to leave it that way–I was able to read there awhile and discover you are now posting here instead, but I think some would not pay that close attention and you might miss some readers. Just thought I’d let you know.

  4. Thank you for your support of my little homespun blog, darylgstewart.net
I am truly happy to see your face, every time I hear from you, even if only a happy face.
I am sorry to hear that painful changes have come to your life, but Peace be unto you and yours!
    Jeremiah 30:16 NKJV-
‘Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured; And all your adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; Those who plunder you shall become plunder, And all who prey upon you I will make a prey.

Praise the Word of the Lord!

  5. Love the header pic and your title! Wish I had done the same and had just changed my title. But instead, I had completely done away with my previous blogs. Miss those past posts. Anyhow, new beginnings are good to start afresh. Will have a look around, as this blog is lovely already.

  6. Thanks very much. Are you on Facebook? I saw someone with your name on Facebook but the photo doesn’t match – is that Joseph Elon Lillie related to you? I use Facebook to keep up with many people around the world that I pray for, missionaries, fellow believers I have met through the years, Christian writers, etc.

  7. Nice to meet you in the blog-a-sphere. I lived in Nabnasset (Westford) MA in the early ’70’s and my son Matt and his family now live in Berlin, MA. Of course, I have children and grandchildren and brothers and sisters all over the country. I look forward to reading your posts.

  8. I’ve been hunting through your blog to find which Bible version you use in the meditations, etc, where you ask readers questions–but I’m unsuccessful in finding it named; also, am I blind–because I don’t see the chapter and verse listed on the passage-posts. While I was able to scout out which Psalm chapter/verse–I still can’t match up a Bible version, which would be helpful. Could you please assist me? Your faithful Bible student (the old frumpy woman, 2nd pew on your left)–thank you! 🙂

  9. Thank you so much I appreciate you posting the link to my Blog post for the weekly Photography Challenge at The Daily Post “I’d Rather Be…” CreatingI My post give you an idea of what I do hope you will visit again, I follow your Blog now! 🙂 Carolina

    • That is awesome! How long were you involved in youth ministry? I was a 19 year veteran myself. Now it is not just youth ministry I am retiring from. This is an interesting season. I never thought I would retire from ministry. I am not even really sure that is what is happening. It is definitely an interesting time of change in my life and I do definitely know that something is different.

  10. I just noticed you have a whole page on Romans–guess I should have wandered over here earlier! 🙂 I’m curious what your denomination is–if you’re allied with one. Maybe I should keep reading 😉 You’re a huge blessing, Brother–I can’t thank you enough…maybe it has to do with “seasons”, “right timing”.
