Morning Direction From Scripture 3-9-17

I say to God my Rock,

“Why have you forgotten me?

Why must I go about mourning,

oppressed by the enemy?”

10My bones suffer mortal agony

as my foes taunt me,

saying to me all day long,

“Where is your God?”

Psalm 42:9,10

What are some reasons for mourning? Is it a necessary thing?

  1. Life’s full of losses–I’m guessing the intended purpose of mourning is to heal from them and move on…though there are some losses that many of us don’t get over–whether or not we remain “in mourning” depends on the individual.

  2. It always feels like a faith test to me. Will my faith withstand yet another hit…will I lean on God and his goodness or reject Him and try to find my own way. Mourning is one of those times where the human heart truly seeks solace in the one true God. When nothing makes sense and life is spinning all around…we begin to open up to the possibility of the ALMIGHTY. Our heart is called back to its true source of Life.
