Morning Direction From Scripture 2-8-17

I am on the verge of collapse,
    facing constant pain.
18 But I confess my sins;
    I am deeply sorry for what I have done.
19 I have many aggressive enemies;
    they hate me without reason.
20 They repay me evil for good
    and oppose me for pursuing good.
21 Do not abandon me, O Lord.
    Do not stand at a distance, my God.
22 Come quickly to help me,
    O Lord my savior. Psalm 38:17-22

What are some things you can do to stop pain from negatively affecting your faith?

  1. Stop trying to fix it and give it immediately to God. I only make the pain worse when I try to work it out before consulting God.

  2. I try to stay clear about the fact that it’s separate from my faith–there’s the pain, and there’s all the wonderfulness of God. Last night I told Him it was really really bad…and then moved on to whatever was next 🙂
