Evening Meditation 2-7-17

I am on the verge of collapse,
    facing constant pain.
18 But I confess my sins;
    I am deeply sorry for what I have done.
19 I have many aggressive enemies;
    they hate me without reason.
20 They repay me evil for good
    and oppose me for pursuing good.
21 Do not abandon me, O Lord.
    Do not stand at a distance, my God.
22 Come quickly to help me,
    O Lord my savior. Psalm 38:17-22

How does pain affect faith?

  1. It makes us “desperate” and can lead us to, or away from God. If we seek Him, it provides an opportunity not just for healing, but for Him to grow our faith in Him–pain tests us, and that can be a good thing. We see that God’s promises are true–He’ll never leave us, certainly not when we’re in pain and feeling at our weakest; thus He proves that He is our Strength, our Shield, our Fortress.

      • Amen, Brother–AMEN!! I’ve had increased chronic pain of late (in tandem with some depression), and it draws me closer to Him–even if I feel the need to step back, have a break, from my blogging mission… Never fear, I’ll be back soon 🙂 Keeping you and your fam, and all the rest of the folks here, in my prayers from a distance.
