I was doing my bills the other night and had just finished up with the portion that I needed to pay. Since this was the batch I don’t do electronically I had tucked them safely into their envelopes, affixed stamps and return addresses to the outside and headed them off to the mailbox. The curtains were drawn for the night (it being well into the evening); So I thought to myself “I will just put them out in the morning.” ย Then I promptly threw them into the wood stove. You heard me correctly into the wood stove.
The worst part of it is the next morning when I got up and began looking for the bills I could not find them anywhere.
I kept telling my loved ones, “I put them right here on top of the wood stove.”
That’s when my daughter (bless her heart) decided to look in the wood stove. I was chuckling at the insanity of the idea until…
I guess I can be happy ย it’s not burning season.
I think I may be getting just a little too busy. What do you think?

We all have those times. We have come to call them “Senior Moments.”
Hmm yes. I was hoping to avoid them. Guess not.
Thanks for the chuckle ๐
Most welcome.
I thought “burnt offerings” were no longer required. ๐
Oh gosh and here I was thinking I had gotten free from the “law”. ๐
Hah! I love the “burnt offerings” comment!!
๐ lol!! ๐ Have a wonderful day. God bless you! Beth
He has blessed with super-abundance!
Hi Beth! We have a fun group, eh?!
Absolutely! The joy of the Lord is here! ๐
๐
Me too.
Just so they were all in the correct envelopes. I have, more than once, sent the mortgage check to the insurance company or the power bill payment to the telephone company…
Good grief I never checked that!
Oh, Pastor J, I think maybe you are a little too busy or well maybe a lot. Thanks for the laugh I so needed that tonight.
Praying for you and Sandy today as you face your own busy day!
Thank you for sharing that . ..so we don’t feel like it’s just us doing these kind of things! God bless you and help you with all you have to do!
I am glad to learn it is not just me.
So much of what we receive in the mail goes in the recycling bin. It’s a good thing all my checks are electronic!
I am thinking that I may need to go all electronic myself.
Yep – time for a bit of a brake
Indeed!
Oh Jay!….Time to slow your roll I think! Thank God Amanda knows you well enough to look in the wood stove…and Praise the Lord it is not burning season indeed!!! But Boy did this make me laugh!!!
Love you….
Yes indeed. We tried to call today but you weren’t in.
Lol….sounds like your brain is telling you that you need to slow down a little or take a little break Pastor “J”………:)….been there done that…….no bills into a wood stove, but a tin of cream in the microwave instead of the fridge……..lol.
Yes. I am looking into how to get that time now.
Great..:)
Maybe I’m not as old as I sometimes think I am . . . I haven’t done that yet! (well, of course not: I wouldn’t have a [HOT] wood stove if you paid me) . . . but no doubt the time is coming when I might put them in the fridge or something. I won’t mention O** A** words!
Yeah a hot wood stove is a welcome addition to our winters let me tell you.
