Evening Meditation 3-3-17

My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while they say to me all the day long,
    “Where is your God?”
These things I remember,
as I pour out my soul:
how I would go with the throng
and lead them in procession to the house of God
with glad shouts and songs of praise,
a multitude keeping festival. Psalm 42:3,4

How long has it been since you have been in a joyful procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise? If it has been too long what are you willing to do to make it happen?

My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while they say to me all the day long,
    “Where is your God?”
These things I remember,
as I pour out my soul:
how I would go with the throng
and lead them in procession to the house of God
with glad shouts and songs of praise,
a multitude keeping festival. Psalm 42:3,4

Have you ever wandered away from God and found yourself wishing to go back? What was that experience like?

Morning Direction From Scripture 3-3-17

Day and night I have only tears for food,

while my enemies continually taunt me, saying,

“Where is this God of yours?”

4My heart is breaking

as I remember how it used to be:

I walked among the crowds of worshipers,

leading a great procession to the house of God,

singing for joy and giving thanks

amid the sound of a great celebration! Psalm 42: 3-4

Have you ever been in a situation where people looked at your life and mocked God because of the spot you were in? What did you do?

Morning Direction From Scripture 3-1-17

All who hate me whisper about me,
    imagining the worst.
“He has some fatal disease,” they say.
“He will never get out of that bed!”
Even my best friend, the one I trusted completely,
the one who shared my food, has turned against me.

10 Lord, have mercy on me.
Make me well again, so I can pay them back!
11 I know you are pleased with me,
for you have not let my enemies triumph over me.
12 You have preserved my life because I am innocent;
you have brought me into your presence forever. Psalm 41:7-12

How does verse 10 rate for you as a reason to overcome sickness? Is it a legitimate reason? Do you think it is powerful enough? Do you think God honors this as a reason for healing?
