Share Your World Week Of Jan. 29, 2018

share-your-world2

I have been away from my writing desk for a few weeks visiting with my son who was home from his teaching post in South Korea. He has gone back now and here I am sitting and tapping the keys to SHARE MY WORLD.  Most of you who read me with any regularity know that Share Your world is a challenge I have been involved with for about six years now. It is hosted by Cee Neuner over at Cee’s Photography.

Each week Cee asks questions and in answering them we all share our worlds with each other. When you are done reading my response to Cee’s questions here, pop on over to Cee’s place using the links underlined above and read some of her work and the work of her contributors.

Here are this week’s questions and my answers:

If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?

My usual go to answer for questions like this is Barnes & Noble but just Monday I had occasion to visit my first Hobby Lobby. If I had an unlimited shopping spree there I think I could buy the store out.

What is the worst thing you ate recently?

There are two things I ate recently that have made me a little green. I recently had some homemade roast beef hash. The hash was OK but the chef mixed butternut squash in with it….not so good. The other was a meatloaf I had just last night. Not everything was fully mixed in and, yeah, melted Ritz crackers mixed with congealed hamburg fat….again not do good.

As the new year dawns, it is time to get back to sharing our worlds. Share Your World is the challenge in which our hostess Cee asks a few questions and in answering them, we her contributors, share the world.

After you have finished reading the questions and my answers click the underlined link and pop on over to Cee’s place to see how the rest of the world shared!

Here are the questions and my answers:

Do you prefer a bath or shower?

I love a long hot bath. That said I usually only have time for showers.

What do you do to make a living or during the day? If you are retired what mostly occupies your day? Or if you are a student what are you studying?

I am the Sr. Associate Pastor of Cornerstone Church in Winchendon MA. I spend my days leading prayer groups, Bible studies, planning church life and outreach, I lead worship and generally try to love God and people.

Is there a stuffed animal in your bedroom?

No. But there are two real animals who live with me in my room.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I just started Eugene Peterson’s Book RUN WITH THE HORSES….This quote really grabbed me this week.

“The Bible makes it clear that every time there is a story of faith, it is completely original. God’s creative genius is endless. He never, fatigued and unable to maintain the rigors of creativity, resorts to mass-producing copies. Each life is a fresh canvas on which he uses lines and colors, shades and lights, textures and proportions that he has never used before.”

Here are my thoughts as I close out the year.

What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today?

All this week I have been taking some time to regroup from the busyness of the season. As the new year approaches I am taking hold of a new confession…In my jubilee year I AM GOING TO SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

List at least five of your favorite spices? (excluding salt and pepper)

I love coriander, cumin, cilantro, basil, and oregano…Ok I know that most of those are herbs but still…

What can you always be found with?

My canvas carrying bag. Which is generally filled with books, notebooks, journals, pens and schedules…Oh and my phone.

Well it may be the 27th today but I am still catching up from my week away at the pastor’s conference. So I am a little behind in Sharin’ Mah World.

If it’s not too late for me, it’s not too late for you either. So click the link above and go share your world.

Here are this week’s questions and my answers:

Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?

School itself was easy for me. I loved learning and I was good at it. My brain wrapped itself around knowledge like a hungry python wraps around its prey. that said I was not popular. Socially I was an outcast and there were times when that was difficult.

List some of your favorite types of animals.

I love little dogs

I love cats

What is your favorite large city you have been to? What is the one thing you remember most?

Many of you have seen the mess my world has been over the last several weeks. Our new pastor is soon to arrive. PRAISE GOD! That has meant a lot of clean up around the church and several office shifts. We loaded a 640 cubic yard dumpster full of old church junk. It’s amazing how much you can store in a building this size. Anyway. things are beginning to go back to normal (whatever that is) and this week I find myself able to SHARE MY WORLD.

For those of you unfamiliar with this blog challenge, you can click the link above and go to Cee’s site where the explanation lies about how you can join the Share Your World World.

😉

Here are this week’s questions and my answers.

When you leave a room, do you turn the lights off behind you or keep the lights on throughout your house most of the time?

It depends what time of day it is and what I am doing. If I am getting up at 4 A.M. to walk the dogs, lights stay on. If I am leaving the kitchen after getting a midnight snack, lights go off. If I am doing anything in between…

What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500?

I think breaking the money into increments and spending it on several posh dining experiences is at least one good way to spend $500.00. Maybe a musical or concert throne in for good measure is an added bonus.

Complete this sentence: My favorite thing to do on my cell phone is…

Read books or blogs. I use my phone as my Kindle.

What inspired you this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

This photo of my son vacationing in the Philippines really inspired me to get more active.

Doesn’t he look like a man on a serious adventure?

I missed participating in SHARE YOUR WORLD last week. This challenge has become part of a routine and when I miss it…I really miss it. Anyway this is the challenge where our hostess, Cee, asks us five questions. As we answer them we SHARE OUR WORLDS. You can click the underlined links to see all the world sharing going on over at Cee’s blog.

Here are this week’s questions and my answers:

What is something that people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?

Oh gosh over the year there have been so many things. Pet rocks…Chia pets ( now apparently it’s a health food)…Hula hoops. Currently it is this thing called the Fidget Spinner?

What quirky things do people do where you are from?

We drink Moxie. And we say things like “Wicked Awesome!”

What are some things you wish you could unlearn?

Unlearn? …Hmm sometimes I wish I had not learned to look at the negative side of things first and had learned to step out of the gates with a positive attitude. I am working on that.

Who is someone that you miss having in your life?

I miss lots of people. Some have left this life and some have just left mine. I cannot say which is the more painful missing.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful to be almost fully healed from my pulled stomach muscles. My singing is still not quite up to par. The diaphragm is still a little weak but it will come. I am looking forward to getting a boat load of writing done this week.

Spring is springing and so from my little corner of the world I am rejoicing at the opportunity to SHARE MY WORLD THIS WEEK!

Share Your World, is a weekly writing challenge in which our hostess Cee asks five questions. In answering them we, her contributors, share our worlds.

I have participated in several walk-a-thons to benefit mission projects. All of them were during my youth pastoring days. Speed- The -Light buys vehicles, boats, planes, sound systems, puppet stages…whatever a missionary needs to accomplish their God given tasks

Name one thing not many people know about you.

I am a flautist.

What is your favorite flower?

I really like the smell of Joe Pye Weed.

Joe Pye Weed Seeds

Things I want to have in my home (paintings, hot tubs, book cases, big screen tv etc)
