Well here we are, another week gone and creeping aggressively towards 2014! I loved Cee’s questions this week. I think I might even add a few pictures with my answers. Hey while your here why don’t you go on over to Cee’s page and see what she and our other friends have to say!

Do you prefer to receive gifts or give them?

the best gift. Ice cream with the kiddos

I am not much of a gift person really. I love to sit with  people over a good meal and then perhaps a movie. When I receive gifts or give them I like them to be gifts that can be used up. I am a great lover of the gift card.

If you could be given ANY gift what would it be?

A sweet memory to mark eternity.

If you had a shelf for your three most special possessions (not including photos, people or animals), what would you put on it?

The Bible, My favorite music book and a pen and journal set.

Would you spend the weekend in an abandoned house in the forest?

Sure as long as I had some help to start the fires and catch the food ( I am assuming that the house does not come stocked). It would need to be a step up from this place though.

Share Your World 2013 Week 42

share-your-world2

This seems to be the week of the reblog. I have found so many great thoughts encased in the blogs I have been reading i just had to share them with you. Most recently I shared a reblog from “Bread For the Bride.” You have to check this one out. It is so good!      http://breadforthebride.wordpress.com/2013/11/25/reblog-and-the-bride-wore-scars/

And after you have done that check out Cee’s subscribers and all the great answers they gave to this weeks “Share” questions at     http://ceenphotography.com/2013/11/25/share-your-world-2013-week-42/

Here are my answers to Cee’s awesome questions.

If you were the original designer of one existing corporate logo, which one would you select?

I would choose the Veggie Tales logo. I love these guys. Have you heard them?

If you could have your own TV channel, what would it be about?

I would probably choose a preaching and prophecy channel.  The truth about the future laid out in the Bible is far stranger than fiction.

If you were on an small island, who would you want to be with? And where is it?  How big is it?

My small island: would need to be somewhere where there are pleasant rains and no typhoons; Warm water but no sharks; Plenty to eat and no poisonous snakes. I am assuming I am not stuck on the island and could come and go at my pleasure. So I would like to be alone on the island for a prayer get-away. I guess that is not really alone but it would be away from other human contact.

At what age did you become an adult?

I was just talking about this with friends at my birthday party the other day. I said good bye to my childhood at age 35. I am not sure why I felt that way at 35 but that was the year I realized I was no more a kid.

Today I am posting for a second time in order to get my weekly Cee post in. Things are slowing back to normal a bit but only for a few days ( So I guess that means normal is now the busier pace I have been living for months). This weekend we have our church trunk-or treat outreach and then three days of Pastor’s Retreat in Hyannis where I will probably be away from my computer almost entirely. I will endeavor to get ahead on my posting so that you all can keep reading. You really need to check out Cee’s  friends and their take on these questions at   http://ceenphotography.com/2013/10/21/share-your-world-2013-week-37/  While you are there why don’t you check out Cee’s new website and photography as well!

Here are today’s questions and answers:

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

In the spring and summer and early autumn I love to take walks and to pray outdoors. There is something very connective about seeking the Lord out amongst His creation. In the late fall and winter I have no favorite outdoor activities however. I try to stay in as much as possible because the weather during this time of year is truly frigismalwegristusting that is weather that is frigid, dismal, wet, gross and disgusting!

Do you prefer your food separated or mixed together?

I eat a LOT of casseroles. If you can put it in a crock pot or mix it with noodles I am there!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

In spite of the fact that our winters are frigismalwegristusting I would still choose to live in the North East of the United States. Three out of four seasons ain’t bad!

What household chore do you absolutely hate doing?

I am not a big fan of shovelling the snow in the frigismalwegristusting weather.

Hello all! Today is a  holiday in the merry state of Massachusetts. The office is closed and I have been working on projects around the house most of the day (though at a very relaxed pace). I just popped by the office for a few  minutses (I must be channeling Gollum) to blog and to dig out some fabric  for the art show coming up this weekend. Cee’s questions this week seemed pretty relaxed; So before I go I shall endeavor to answer them!

What’s your least favorite mode of transportation?

Far and away my least favorite mode of transportation is dog sled. I have never ridden one but I am pretty sure I would hate it. That would be followed up by my second least favorite mode of transportation…long distance swimming. The swimming thing would only be more tolerable if I was in shark free warm water with super buoyant arm floaties. 🙂

Where do you like to vacation?

I just love to vacation period. Each place I have been has had its own special attraction. I have really enjoyed my visits to the Netherlands though.

Which place do you recommend as a Must-See? Please state which country, state or providence.

Oh there are so many must sees! Delft South Holland, Museum Plein In Amsterdam The Grand Canyon, The Gulf of Mexico, Yellowstone Park,.

How about must- not- sees can I do that instead? If I were to un recommend anyplace it would be Gatlinberg  Tennessee. I would say go to Pigeon Forge but do not climb the mountain pass! Someday I will tell the whole story.

If money was not an issue, would you go on a cruise?  If so where would you go?

Oh sure, I would definitely go on a cruise. I would try to find one that took me to a place where they had bungee jumping! 🙂  Explanation here      http://wp.me/p39vIx-Nq

Hey there! I hope you have enjoyed reading my answers. for more fun with Cee goto http://ceenphotography.com/2013/10/14/share-your-world-2013-week-36/

Share Your World With Cee Cee 2013 Week 31

share-your-world2

This week Cee has asked some really fun questions and I hope I can do them justice in the few minutes I have before prayer meeting. If you would like to see how others have answered go to http://www.ceephotography.com/2013/09/09/share-your-world-2013-week-31/

Do you push the elevator button more than once and do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?

I always push the button at least twice and the second time is more of a pulse tap so it technically qualifies as five or six hits. I am convinced that this is how you get the elevator to move at light speed. Oh dancing in the elevator also makes it move faster in case you were wondering.

If you had the choice between an RV, a sports car, truck, SUV, or a bicycle, which would you choose and why?

This week it would be an RV. I think I would hit the road for a nice road trip.

If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?

Zerubbabel. I have always liked that name. 🙂 You could call me Zeb for short. I am pretty sure my son would not like this name though. it has been tough enough being Joseph Elon VI. Can you imagine being Zerubbabel Elon VI?

Is it more important to love or be loved?

Oh boy! There are all kinds of scriptural connotations with this question. Love is a commitment we are all called to make and true love is presupposed with a reward of love returned from the Source of Love. When we love we get love from the Source of Love even if not directly from the one (s) we are loving. So I would say loving is more important because it is in loving that we discover we are loved.

The puppies are three weeks old today! Eyes opened last week and they are beginning to wander just a little bit,

This morning I met with a lady who bought one and the other is going to my sister in Hollanhd. So I have one of the little fellas left.

A Little Too Busy

I was doing my bills the other night and had just finished up with the portion that I needed to pay. Since this was the batch I don’t do electronically I had tucked them safely into their envelopes, affixed stamps and return addresses to the outside and headed them off to the mailbox. The curtains were drawn for the night (it being well into the evening); So I thought to myself “I will just put them out in the morning.”  Then I promptly threw them into the wood stove. You heard me correctly into the wood stove.

The worst part of it is the next morning when I got up and began looking for the bills I could not find them anywhere.

I kept telling my loved ones, “I put them right here on top of the wood stove.”

That’s when my daughter (bless her heart) decided to look in the wood stove. I was chuckling at the insanity of the idea until…

I guess I can be happy  it’s not burning season.

I think I may be getting just a little too busy. What do you think?

PARTY ON

Winter Puppies

This is what happens when little white dogs meet with a little wet snow!

Nothing a half hour with a blow dryer and a dog brush won’t fix!

True North

God  shared with me a few years ago that my travels needed to be ordered and approved by Him. I sort of concluded that meant I would be travelling less. I expected that I would be shelving my love for wandering… at least for a while. Nothing could have been further from the truth. If anything my journeys have increased in number; But now they are with a purpose.

This week’s trip sent me north to Waldoboro ME, to help out my brother-in-law who was recuperating from surgery. It was not a vacation in the strictest sense of the word. It was something far better.

I arrived at Midnight on the 21st.

Midnight in Waldoboro

Midnight in Waldoboro

I met and chatted with my brother-in-law’s friend, Janet who had been his driver to and from the surgery and who  stayed with him until I could get there. I walked Gideon (the dog), stowed my gear and finally bedded down on the couch about 2:30 A.M.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday were spent walking the dog, making meals, visiting with Cliff and making sure he was taking his medicine. I am the mean nurse :). We did shoot out to the bank and the store on Friday to make sure he was stocked up for the weekend storm. We shared faith and watched a lot of movies. I finished my sermon and kept tabs with my office by cell phone. All in all it was a quiet three days in Maine farm country.

Here are a few photos:

I left Cliff much recovered on Saturday morning and headed down the coast stopping in Haverhill MA to see my daughter and her beau for lunch. Not to worry folks I kept it limited to veggies and fruits in keeping with Lent! Can I just say, travelling for God’s purpose is so much more fun than just going on vacation!
