What’s yours?
What’s yours?

Yep! It’s time to SHARE MY WORLD AGAIN! Those of you who read Lillie-Put regularly know that Share Your World is one of the challenges I participate in almost weekly.
For those of you new to Lillie-Put, Share Your World, is a challenge put out by Cee Neuner, a blogger from Portland Oregon. Every week she asks us five questions and in answering them we all share our worlds!
Join in the fun by clicking the underlined link above and sharing your own world with Cee!
Here are this week’s questions and my answers:
If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?
Pizza, most definitely pizza
What is the worst thing you ate this last recently?
I made chicken a week ago. It was so dry it turned to dust in my mouth. Blecch!
You are comfortable doing nothing? For long stretches of time?
I call myself to center down several times a day. Honestly I find it hard to find time to do nothing but the act of coming away from activity to meditate and pray has become an essential part of my attempt at creating effectiveness. That said I am not generally someone who does nothing for long blocks of time. It might be fun to do more of that from time to time.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful I got to talk to all my children and my sister last week . This week I am looking forward to performing the wedding ceremony for two of my former students.

This vacation was about prayer. It was about rest, and it was about the day trips.
For my daughter’s birthday I promised her a book crawl. That’s kind of like a pub crawl with books instead of alcohol.
We headed out early on Saturday morning the 23rd. The Book Mill in Montague is a must see for book lovers.
We stopped for a photo op with the tardus
We stopped to visit a piece of family history.
And for lunch.
I did buy several titles that morning.
Then we headed North. Sadly all the other book stores we checked out were closed.
So we stoped for banana splits.
Another book crawl is planned for the fall. Next time we will head South and West.
I shared last week’s world yesterday and today I am sharing this week’s world with you all.
I know that statement might have confused some of you. Let me explain. Every week Cee Neuner asks five questions of her contributors. In answering them we all share our worlds. I have been a little behind so this week I am sharing my world not once but twice.

Who knows maybe you will even do a little sharing of your own!
Here are the questions and my answers
What is your favorite part of the town/city you live in. And what Country do you live?
I live in the state of Of Massachusetts on the Eastern coast of the U.S. I love the forests of our town and the back roads.
Would you rather wear clown shoes every day or a clown wig every day?
Clown shoes not even a question. A wig would make my head sweat.
Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?
I have been told there are rules about such things. I have never taken the time to learn what they are. I count myself blessed to have toilet paper and to have a toilet to put it in.
What do you do to make a living or during the day? If you are retired what mostly occupies your day? Or if you are a student what are you studying?
I am a minister on staff at a growing church. My portfolio includes: Music and the arts and discipleship.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful that I had such a wonderful vacation. I am very glad that I will soon be going home from my first full day back at the office for a nap before my meeting tonight!

So I wrote yesterday about my prayer goals during my recent staycation. I feel like God is leading me through some life change and that is a really good thing. I feel like I am gaining a clearer focus and while some tough choices may lie ahead I think that they will ultimately take me to the place where God really wants me to focus my energy.
But I also found some time to relax during this vacation. I actually spent the better part of one day in bed for a much needed rest.
I finished another book.
I went to breakfast with my friend Jody.

And I saw two movies. I went to one with my friend Gerry and I saw the Bourne movie by myself.
How do you like to spend your vacations?
I am still running behind but doing the vacation catch up thing. So here is my share your world answers for last week.
You can find a slew of world sharers by clicking THIS LINK.

Here are the questions and my answers.
Do you prefer a bath or shower?
I love a good hot soak every once in a while but mostly I am just a quick shower type of guy. I hardly have time to run a bath never mind soak in it!
If you had an unlimited shopping spree at only one store, which one would you choose? Why?
I would choose an unlimited shopping spree at Amazon.com. That way I do not have to leave home and I can stop to make a sandwich when I get tired of spending money. 🙂
If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?
I would choose to be seventeen as long as I could overcome the teenage angst and sense of powerlessness I felt. Having the body of a seventeen year old without any of the personality draw backs that come from lack of wisdom and experience would be just awesome!
List at least five movies that cheer you up.
I love triumph stories. Here are a few I have recently seen that sent me away saying, “THAT WAS AWESOME!”
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am grateful that I had a great vacation (details to come in future posts) and this week I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things at work.
So this year my plan was to visit my son in South Korea for my summer vacation. Unfortunately I ended up owing on April 15th rather than getting back…Sad :(.

So my South Korean vacation turned into a New England staycation. God is always in control. As it turns out sticking around was all part of His plan.
I decided to take a portion of my time and spend it in concerted prayer about my schedule for this next year. I have been sensing for a while that things are about to change.
A few weeks before my vacation I approached Father Mike over at Immaculate Heart and asked him if I could use his sanctuary during my vacation as a sacred space to center down and pray. He readily agreed. Thank you Father Mike!
Then I approached my teams with a list of all the things I am involved in and asked them to rate those things on a 1-10 scale as to their importance in my life. I took all this information with me into prayer. The results I imagine will be forthcoming.
Here is the recipe for the vacation baking dish I showed you all earlier.
Wicked cinchy and super yummy

As some of you know Cee took the week of from Share Your World last week; So week 27 is as nonexistent at the 13th floor in some hotels. But here we are at week 28 answering her 5 sharing questions once again.
YOU CAN SEE EVERYONE’S ANSWER TO THE QUESTIONS HERE.
Here are Cee’s five weekly sharing questions and my answers.
What is your earliest memory?
My earliest memory is a recurring nightmare I had when I was a little boy. We lived in a great big Victorian set into a hillside. The house was grey and black and to this day gives me the heebie-jeebies when I drive past it.
My parents rented one side and another family rented the other side. Anyway I remember dreaming many nights in my crib that two giant fat ghosts would pop through the wall beside my crib (yes I was that young) and sit on me. The ghosts were men with big noses always wearing Hawaiian shirts. Crazy I know but I remember the dreams vividly.
What was the last photo you took with your phone?
Have you ever danced in the rain?
No I am not a big fan of getting my feet wet.
What is the longest you have gone without sleep?
36 hours. Brutal!
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I am so grateful that our team at Cornerstone had a wonderful teamwork training led by our leadership coach, Paul Hackett. What a brilliant guy! I am looking forward to the second part of the training next Monday and then I am on vacation!
