I do snore. I know that because sometimes I wake myself up.

I find life generally funny. At least given a little separation from it I do.

What was the last furry thing you touched?

My dogs Mercedes and Jacopo.

How do you handcuff a one-armed man?

You handcuff him to some immobile thing: A desk, a house, a mountain…

An Attitude of Gratitude

This week I challenge you to list five things you’re grateful for.   Credit to this goes to Sadje ( https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/ ) because she’s started a challenge to do that daily.  #5 Things.   Daunting?  Well it is to me!  I’d have trouble finding five one time, let alone each day.

https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/2020/02/07/five-things-feb-7th-2020/

  1. I am grateful for my church and the way God is moving in it.
  2. I am so grateful my sister did the grocery shopping today. I really needed the extra prayer time.
  3.  I am grateful for the opportunity to gather with our C.cada artists tomorrow.
  4. I am grateful for my home, The Vicarage.

5.  I am grateful for God’s supernatural provision during this season of my life.

When was the last time you tried something new?

I just got back from the Philippines 2 weeks ago. That was new. I experienced my first Philippine wedding that was new and absolutely stunning! I ate Philippine cuisine and that was new as well as yummy!

I put my feet in the Pacific Ocean and that was also new!

If you were forced to eliminate every physical possession from your life with the exception of what could fit into a single backpack, what would you put in it?

A Change of clothes, A cell phone,  a bed roll and one of those scout cook plates with the cup and fork, spoon and knife set up, and of course a leatherman.

What simple fact do you wish more people understood?

Jesus is Lord.

What food item do you go through fastest in your house?  (credit to Sandmanjazz)

It is finally time to Share My World Again! This is one of my favorite times of the week. This challenge has been part of my blogging world for something like seven years and I never get tired of it. In the challenge our hostess Melanie asks several questions and in answering them we all share our worlds. So come on join in the fun. When you have read my answers click the above link and go over to Melanie’s site (Sparks From a Combustible Mind) and answer for yourself.

Here are this week’s questions and my answers:

1.  What age would you like to live to?

I am currently 52 going on immortal.  I firmly believe in life after death and so for me what lies ahead is just more life with a brief interruption for that thing called death. As Paul the Apostle wrote:

What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 53 For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,[j] this Scripture will be fulfilled:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.[k]
55 O death, where is your victory?
    O death, where is your sting?[l]” 1 Cor. 15

So the age I live to in this body doesn’t really matter because there is a whole lot more living to be done there than there is here. That said I think I still have some work to do here so I would say I want to live to be old enough to finish what I have to do.

2.  What mystery do you wish you knew the answer to?

Any mystery that stands in my way of living and doing what I need to do.

3.  Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?

That would assume that we as humans come from a standpoint of innocence to begin with. We do not. The Bible teaches that everything (not just humans but everything in creation) is influenced by the power of sin from the start. Everything is already corrupted, so absolute power cannot re-corrupt that which is already corrupted. It can however make a really good display of the corruption which already exists inside of a person.

4.  What outdoor activity haven’t you tried, but would like to?

I would like to try horseback riding.

Please free free to share some gratitude from your world!

I am really grateful for sleep right now. I have never had jet lag as horrible as what I have experienced this week. Sleep has been this wonderful gift which has been assuaging a sense of overwhelming weariness which plagues me almost constantly. I am also grateful for compression socks and Motrin. Since flying my feet have been constantly swollen and painful.

Share Your World 1-25-20

Well hello again world! I missed a week of sharing as I was at my son’s wedding in The Philippines. I’ll show a few pictures of that at the end of this post. That said, I wanted to make sure I got a SHARE YOUR WORLD POST  done before this week rang out.

For those of you who don’t know “Share Your World” is the weekly challenge where Melanie from “Sparks From A Combustible Mind” asks a few questions and in answering them we all share our worlds. This week’s questions and my answers are below. When you have finished reading my thoughts click on the underlined link above and see how others shared their worlds.

Where do you get your news?

I get most of my news from on line sources like Youtube. I subscribe to several news channels including CNN MSNBC and FOX. I alos really like Jason A. We do buy two daily newspapers from the local Cumberland Farms but those are mostly for my mother’s perusal.  I seldom even take a look at anything other than the front page headlines.

What ‘old person’ thing do you do?

My kids say I drive like a little old lady. And I have been known to crack the occasional Dad joke.

When was the coldest you’ve ever been?   The warmest?

Cold is a regular occurrence here in Massachusetts. It does occasionally get down into the -30’s F. I actually like being warm as long as I do not have to do much. I think the hottest I have experienced was on a Mission Trip to Mexico in August.

Do you eat food that’s past its expiration date if it still smells and looks fine?

I suppose it has happened I don’t usually check expiration dates.

Finally:

Gratitude (not mandatory to participate in)

If you’d like to, please share some gratitude from your life.

I am so glad I got be part of my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding last week.
