I loved the story of your grandparents sharing stories with you. I didn’t have that from either side and my mother never spoke of her family, and I mean never. I have thought of writing stories down and giving to my grandchildren at Christmas this year, and your post really motivates me to do it.
I have always valued story, but as I walk through this process of dementia with two people in my life right now I am coming to see the importance of story in a new light. Share those stories! They are important and their absence leaves a gap.
