That’s an interesting thought and comparison – about the Israelites – that the land was already theirs. God promised it to them, but it was occupied by the enemy, giants even – and they had to fight for it. They were already more than conquerors, because it was theirs – and God promised a victory. There shouldn’t be any question that we’ll be or are victorious in our battles. I think that’s why I love Caleb. He waited and trusted for 40 years that what God promised would come to pass.
“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming. So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day.”

I love it! “So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day.” And that was before any battle had begun! He was so sure of victory! What an example of faithfulness
And we have every right to walk in that same level of faith.

That is so good Wendy! Caleb is one of the great heroes of the faith because right from the start he believed his victory was assured.
