Morning Direction From Scripture 8-23-20

Psalm 143

A PSALM OF DAVID.

Lord, hear my prayer,
    listen to my cry for mercy;
in your faithfulness and righteousness
    come to my relief.
Do not bring your servant into judgment,
    for no one living is righteous before you.
The enemy pursues me,
    he crushes me to the ground;
he makes me dwell in the darkness
    like those long dead.
So my spirit grows faint within me;
    my heart within me is dismayed.
I remember the days of long ago;
    I meditate on all your works
    and consider what your hands have done.
I spread out my hands to you;
    I thirst for you like a parched land.[a]

Answer me quickly, Lord;
    my spirit fails.
Do not hide your face from me
    or I will be like those who go down to the pit.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
    for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
    for to you I entrust my life.
Rescue me from my enemies, Lord,
    for I hide myself in you.
10 Teach me to do your will,
    for you are my God;
may your good Spirit
    lead me on level ground.

11 For your name’s sake, Lord, preserve my life;
    in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.
12 In your unfailing love, silence my enemies;
    destroy all my foes,
    for I am your servant.

What are the “parched land areas” of your life right now? What would bring “the rain of God” into them?

  1. That would take a long paragraph to answer. I need deliverance from deep-rooted issues. I’m faithful in my daily Bible reading, in my prayers, praise and gratitude to HIM; I attend online church, and often take Holy Communion at home; I’m faithful in tithing and giving generously; I trust and obey when He asks something of me (to the best of my ability and level of faith and wisdom)…I don’t know what else to do. Today I found something I’d saved from last year–Joseph Prince, one of my fave preacher/teachers, had received a word that 2019 was the year of the Latter Rain, which really blessed me. I’ve forgotten the verses he drew from, just now, but I’m sure you know them. Anyhow, it heartened me to read the declarations (on the card) aloud–I can share them if you’re interested.

      • Re “Year of the Latter Rain, 2019” Declarations from Joseph Prince Ministries:

        “Healing is my inheritance and in Jesus’ name, I expect to see wholeness in my life.”

        “God, I declare an outpouring of Your favor and anointing on my life. No matter where I go, I know Your presence will go with me and help me succeed.”

        “I believe strained relationships in my family will be restored. May unity, grace, and peace overflow, in Jesus’ name!”

        “I declare that my God is more powerful than the principalities and powers that have tried to rob me. The fight’s not over. It’s not hopeless. I believe the best days and years of my life are before me!”

        Some verses noted in the sermon:
        Deut 11:10-12; 14-15
        Joel 2:23-26
        Zechariah 10:1

        Hope you find this beneficial, Brother Joe ❤
