A Change

A poem from my sister.

Notes From the Vicarage

By Brenda Lillie

Something must come, I think.
Something always will.
Still, deeper into this thought I sink,
Surrounded by static, stepping closer to the void.

Not one moment left for careful thought
In this world of
“Listen to this!”
“Hear that!”
We are getting lazy and fat,
Sitting inside our holy walls
Afraid to answer God’s real call.
To go and be His light
To all of humanity.
Instead we fight for our rights
While the world sinks into insanity.
“Hear me!” they cry, while they settle in to die.

  1. I find myself wondering how I missed (did not know about or forgot?) Notes from the Vicarage. Have spent the last minutes reading some of your writing there and enjoyed it immensely. I am now following and will return. 🙂

    • Thanks Drusilla. Notes is actually a blog I started together with my daughter and sister back in April when Brenda returned from the mission field. We are doing it to expose the rigors (the title of my next blog) of the ministry as we are three ministers living under one roof in a multigenerational setting. I am glad you have enjoyed it.
