Morning Direction from Scripture 8-13-18

From birth I have relied on you;
    you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.
    I will ever praise you.
I have become a sign to many;
    you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise,
    declaring your splendor all day long. Psalm 71: 6-8

How has your heritage influenced your view of God?

    • IN the immediate vicinity of my life I can see how an emotionally distant relationship with my parents has made relating to God in some ways difficult and then again I can see where their dedication to a faithful relationship with each other even in the midst of what must have been great struggles ( which I have come to understand as an adult) for them both has helped me to find an assurance in God’s faithfulness to me. Then as I look further back in my lineage and I see the number of churchmen who inhabit my ancestral space it helps me to understand my own almost natural coming to faith even though neither of my parents were specifically “Christian” in their parenting of me.
