In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
turn your ear to me and save me.
3 Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel. Psalm 71:1-5
Our shame is cloaked in His righteousness, as these verses so beautifully describe…Like a child who is hurt when he is out into mischief and yet runs to his father for help–that’s us. Where else will we go to get rid of that burden of sin–what relief that He forgives without belittling or blame. He just leads us on to a different path.
I love the way the Father deals with me and as I respond with repentance leads me deeper into my own value.
