Mid Afternoon Meditation 5-1-17

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
    and make me willing to obey you.
13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels,
    and they will return to you.
14 Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves;
    then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.
15 Unseal my lips, O Lord,
    that my mouth may praise you. Psalm 51: 12-15

What is joy?

  1. I believe that joy is a choice and I can be joyful in the midst of adversity. I once heard the definition of joy as the assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the confidence that everything will be alright in the end, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation. I wish that I remembered where I heard that so that I could credit the correct person. I feel that it is the perfect definition.
