Evening Meditation 3-29-17

You love justice and hate evil.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you,
pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.
Myrrh, aloes, and cassia perfume your robes.
In ivory palaces the music of strings entertains you.
Kings’ daughters are among your noble women.
At your right side stands the queen,
wearing jewelry of finest gold from Ophir! Psalm 45: 7-9

What does it mean to love justice and hate evil?

  1. God asks us Pastor Lillie who will Contend with Him against evil, who will Stand for His Truth, His justice is based on His Love and Mercy, He knows our Hearts, what motivates us, He is Compassionate and understanding but all who choose to reject Him will reap the evil they sow Eternally, their choice not God’s.

Isaiah 61 8a “For I, the Lord, Love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing.

1 Corinthians 13: 6 ( Love ) Rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the Truth.

Psalm 94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?(KJV)

Ephesians 5: 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness but rather expose them.

Proverbs 11:19-20 As righteousness tendeth to life so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord but such as are upright in their way are His delight.

Psalm 94:23 And He shall bring upon them their own iniquity and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

  2. It is True Pastor Lillie as you shared, we are not to Judge anyone’s Eternal Destiny only God knows their hearts or are we to judge critically their weaknesses and shortcomings, we have our own and perhaps more than them but we are to rebuke and warn those who continue to Sin in the Church, it is not Love to watch Satan get a foothold in someones life and just look the other way but we warn them by God’s Truth not just what we think or feel, they may not listen but we have done what God asks us to do in Love and for Love.

I was warned by two Christian friends that I was heading in the wrong direction when I was Gambling, they were worried about it controlling me, you can be sure I wasn’t Happy Clappy and I ignored their warning and continued Gambling believing it was OK and just a bit of fun but later when rescued by The Lord from both the Gambling Addiction and Suicide which it led to when I could find no way to escape it’s bondage, I remembered what my friends said and I Thanked them for Loving me enough to warn me even though they were risking our friendship at the time.

James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the Truth and one convert him Let him know that he which converteth the Sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death and shall hide a multitude of Sins.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for Doctrine, for Reproof, for Correction, for Instruction in Righteousness: That the Man of God may be Perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Titus 2:14-15 Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

2 Timothy 4 : 2-3 Preach the Word be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears.

    Blessings – Anne.

    • Amen. It is important to draw a line between warning and discipline and judgment. Judgment involves a person’s eternal destiny and cuts them off with no hope of return warning and discipline are done for the hope of restoration and deliverance.

  3. Just so you know, I’ve not been responding to your questions here–because I seem to have no answers, my mind is a dry well. I don’t want you to think I’m dis-ing you personally. This question seems obvious, but I’ll give it a try: to hate evil is to not tolerate it, even passively; to love justice is to strive toward its tangible manifestation here and now, without partiality.

    • That is a great answer. Lately I have been thinking about the fact that only in this universe is justice a thing because here there is guilt but in a universe where only innocence dwells justice has no manifestation because there is nothing to make right or justify because everything is already innocent and good. To love justice is to love a thing that God never even intended to exist but we made necessary as a race by the introduction of sin. Likewise evil… Oh what will the world be like when there is no more evil and no more justice only faith, hope and love?
