I may have gotten hung up on God’s “right” hand, as opposed to “left”–but anyway, after studying up in several Bible versions including my Thompson’s Chain Reference NIV, plus Smith’s Bible Dictionary, a Nelson’s Compact Commentary, and finally Matthew Henry’s Commentary–I’m gambling on the answer to your question being that the Right Hand of God is FAVOR. That’s what I would have guessed initially, but feel there must be more regarding God’s right and left hands, and what they hold or signify–and I didn’t want to cheat and go to the online Bible “experts”. I do enjoy trying to research and figure stuff out for myself…so now, “Teach”, tell me what the answer is before I burst a blood vessel 🙂 (And I’m thinking you use NIV for these daily post-passages–Yes??)
Actually I use a variety of versions. I like the ability to move around and see how different versions accentutate certain meanings of words especially in the PSalms. I have used NKJV and NLT, ESV and NIV over the course of these meditations. I like what you have come up with. IN a king’s court the favored courtiers and often the Prince presumptive would be placed on the right hand of the King. The King often held the sceptre (an emblem of his royal power) in his right hand. It is kind of fun to think deep on all the nuances of meaning this could bring.
