Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
2 The Lord protects them
and keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity in the land
and rescues them from their enemies.
3 The Lord nurses them when they are sick
and restores them to health. Psalm 41:1-3
Because as Jesus said, “the poor you will have with you always”–there are so many! And believers who put JESUS first are generally blessed with abundance, more than they need–so we get an opportunity to experience the JOY of being a cheerful/generous giver, just like GOD.
Amen! I love this. If we all give the little extra we have there is enough.
YES, absolutely–that’s how He meant for it to work well for everyone. If the disparity bothers me so much, I can only imagine that it breaks God’s heart.
If we could just glimpse that heart of pain for a moment it would swallow our lives and direct them forever towards the labor of the Kingdom. I have a video coming out tomorrow that has just rocked my world recently.
Wow.
