Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord,
who have no confidence in the proud
or in those who worship idols. Psalm 40:4

Hmmm – sadly, it’s an easy trap, and there are plenty of proud to go around. With our fractured nation, I hear the proud crying from both sides telling me not to trust the other. Instead, I will put my trust in the one who humbled Himself and became obedient unto death. To Him be all glory, honor and power.
Amen. We are called to walk in the culture humbly before our God and remember that we are not of this kingdom. Our stock is not in this economy or kingdom (or it should not be anyway). Our treasure should be in HEaven.
Amen
Going out on a dangerous limb, I suppose–but if people are putting their confidence in an arrogant president, I suspect they’ll be disappointed. It’s one thing to have hopes that an elected official will be good/do good, make beneficial changes–but as Ben says, it’s so much better/secure to trust in the King who humbled Himself for the whole world.
Amen. We cannot trust in chariots and horses but always in the Lord our God. We are counselled to pray for our government but no nation shall stand forever until HIS NATION is brought about.
Can’t wait.
