Mid Afternoon Meditation 2-3-17

Put your hope in the Lord.
    Travel steadily along his path.
He will honor you by giving you the land.
You will see the wicked destroyed. Psalm 37: 34

What do honoring you and seeing the wicked destroyed have to do with each other?

      • I’m not sure–I wish we could sit down, face to face, and discuss this, as I don’t want to miss out on anything. But an odd thing surfaced in my mind as I read your reply–maybe it fits somewhere, so if you have time to respond, I’d appreciate it. Reading your words: “the wicked will only continue to seek the destruction of the godly” brought back the painful memory that when I was 14, one of the 2 girl friends who led me to Christ was savagely murdered inside the school before classes began one winter day. The horror and aftermath are indescribable–but the “why” has stayed with me…until just now. The classmate who murdered her was wicked…he went on being wicked, even after he was released from his juvenile court sentence. Last year I googled and found out he’d committed some other violent crimes against women–and died when he willfully crashed his vehicle into the police cars intent on capturing him. Whatever other reason he had for killing “K”, he surely knew she was a godly young woman, and thus sought to destroy her–which he did…and her family and friends, and the small innocent-up-to-then community. One of the reports said that his reason was: he just wanted to see what it would be like to kill someone… which is totally evil.
