They offer good counsel and teach right from wrong.
This means in a culture that teaches that right and wrong are subjective and specific to individuals godly people are going to be kind of unpopular.
That’s for sure–but God taught me something early on (and again, when I “forgot”): if I felt alone being the “good girl”/moral–going to the other side in an effort to “fit in” didn’t change things; I was still alone, had no place to fit in the ungodly world. And it was dang uncomfortable, doing wrong, because it wasn’t how God had made me to be. Once that was clear in my mind, “not fitting in” was no longer a concern. I’m rambling….
You make a good point. We may feel alone when we stand out from the sinful crowd but as Christians we are never truly alone until we abandon the One who walks with us to try and gain favor with those who are bound in sin.
