Morning Direction From Scripture 2-1-17

Turn from evil and do good,
and you will live in the land forever.
28 For the Lord loves justice,
and he will never abandon the godly Psalm 37:27,28

God is a God of love and one of the things He loves is justice. How do love and justice work together?

  1. People should be held accountable for their wrong actions–the world’s justice system is really bad at accomplishing this in the perfectly righteous way God would do it. So it blesses me to think that because God loves me, and has seen me victimized, He will bring justice to my account…whether or not I see it happen in my life, my time here. (Hope I haven’t got this question all wrong…)

    • Yes and justice is a part of love too. He cannot truly love someone and leave them with no justice. Yet He loves the one who will be subject to justice as well and that is why He sent Christ to be the scapegoat. It is extremely sad that many will not make use of that provision and so will end up bearing the justice of the Lord themselves.

      • It’s kind of a hard concept for me to grasp, as yet… But I totally agree with the 2nd part of your reply–that it’s very sad to think some will bear the justice of the Lord themselves–after Jesus willing took it for ALL of us. Very sad.
