Our soul waits for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
Because we have trusted in His holy name.
22 Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us,
Just as we hope in You. Psalm 33:20-22

The name (we have many names, but really all facets of His nature) is how He’s chosen to make Himself known to us. It’s His name that gives us joy, because therein we find peace, healing, righteousness, protection, provision, direction and life itself, and if life isn’t enough we even find resurrection. Hallelujah!
I am reading a book right now where the name of Jehovah is used according to the attribute that is being sought at the moment. Jehovah Shammah, Jehovah Jireh etc..
Sounds great.
Is it called the Old Testament? LOL
No but that’s a good one too. LOLOLOL 🙂
When we know someone so well that we trust them implicitly–and God/Jesus is the only one we can trust to that degree–just to say His Name and look on His face (however we understand/experience that) brings supreme Joy and rejoicing. And I like what Ben said too.
