I’m gonna have to guess that it means leaders of nations who are wise in their own eyes, but don’t seek and pursue God, will have the sad surprise of discovering that their lofty plans may come to nothing. Another verse comes to mind–“unless the Lord builds the house…”.
Oh that’s a good verse to put in reference to this one. I also think Psalm 2 mirrors this verse.
Seems like lots of them go together 🙂
