I have tried to hurry Him along–unless it’s a true emergency, that doesn’t work really well. And He’s well aware of what constitutes an “emergency” or doesn’t–He’s promised to answer our cries, and answer even before we call; so basically, there’s no need to get in a panic and try to rush Him. Here’s the verse I LOVE which helps me more, when I remember it: Rom 5:6, “You see, AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME”…
Don’t I know it! I’ve lost count of the times I’ve started a sentence with, “Hey Lord, here’s a great idea I’ve got…”
Me too. Although lately I feel so overloaded I gave had little time to be that creative. I feel like I running to catch up.
Now that’s probably an illusion…that if we run fast enough we can actually catch up 🙂 Breathe, Pastor–or you’ll never survive the holidays!
Thanks. Things are slowing down to a normal pace now. It was a crazy fall.
A pastor’s life is not exactly relaxing 🙂 That’s a delusion some people have about “the calling” 🙂
It is true. I think many people think we only work on Sundays for a couple of hours. 🙂
Yes–I recall when a pastor made sure I was clear about that not being the case…apparently I was a bother…
Sorry you ran into the cranky end of that pastor. We all have that same nature lurking inside us I am afraid. I knew I was struggling with it a few weeks ago when one of my congregants asked me why it had been so long since she had seen me smile. I wasn’t even aware that my crabby was leaking out.

Amen! Sometimes I still forget my place and get ahead of God. That never works out well.
