Evening Meditation 10-21-16

I pray to you, O Lord, my rock.
Do not turn a deaf ear to me.
For if you are silent,
I might as well give up and die.
Listen to my prayer for mercy
as I cry out to you for help,
as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary. Psalm 28:1,2

God is never truly silent. He sometimes says things we do not want to hear or in ways we do not understand. Talk to me about such a time in your experience.

  1. There are definitely times I don’t understand what He’s said, and I’m grateful He always reassures me that “we’ll take it up again later”. There is never a “fail grade”, never a need to feel like a dullard–He knows my heart seeks Him eagerly, and has grace for me. And yes, there are times when He says something I’m not really jazzed to hear…I do the “Arrggghhh…seriously, Lord??” If it’s some act of obedience that I can “get this over with quick”–I’m on it! If not, we usually have to have more “talks” till I get on board with Him–or maybe He needs to clarify so I can understand better and be more agreeable 🙂
