Mid Afternoon Meditation 5-18-16

029

Here is your Scripture and question to meditate on for the afternoon.

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. 1 Cor. 13:1-8

As you look at 1 Corinthians 13 are there any of the attributes you feel would be possible to practice all the time? Which one are you the best at?

  1. The picture is beautiful! That’s wisteria, isn’t it? As for your question. I wish that I could say that I could practice at least one of those attributes all the time but I fail at each one of them at one time or another. That’s why I’m so grateful for Grace. 🙂 I can seek forgiveness, he lifts me up and I try again. I do a lot better if I start the day off in the presence of my Lord, though. 🙂

    • Yes that is wisteria! I finally got down to Longwood Gardens for wisteria season last year! It is beautiful and a great place to think on the Lord. I totally agree with all you have said and especially your last statement. I so need the Lord to help me daily to love, by the power of Holy Spirit baptism.
