#100happydays Day 30

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

I am so happy to have had a great weekend with my son. I am also very happy to be back to work and to be finally catching up with all my writing, correspondence and ministry work!

This photo is of the night watershow at Longwood Gardens.

While we didn’t use those actual words, the same thoughts were expressed about my sister today as family sat at her bedside in palliative care. She doesn’t have long, but she has lived a long life praising her Lord and spreading joy even though she has had over 60 years of great pain with arachnoiditis and many other problems.

    • I am sorry for this coming loss Angela but am thankful that you shall meet her again in glory! And there I hope we shall all be introduced by the God who has watched over us all our lives. What is arachnoiditis?

  2. Thanks JE. Vivian passed peacefully late Monday night.
Arachnoiditis is a chronic disorder, with no known cure. Caused by an inflammation of linings that surround the brain and spinal cord, it is characterized by severe stinging and burning pain and neurologic problems, with persistent pain in the lower back, lower limbs and throughout the entire body. Vivian suffered from it for 60 years. In recent years, her liver, kidneys, lungs, heart, circulation, oesophagus, bones, limbs and others parts of her body were badly affected. She was on fluid only diet, continual oxygen and needed regular platelet infusions.
In spite of that, she was probably the happiest person I’ve known.
