Evening Meditation 5-13-16

cropped-wpid-img_20151026_004832.jpg

Here is what I am wondering tonight.

If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. 1 Cor. 13:1-8

In just a few words tell me, what does it mean to stop being self-seeking?

I was up reading most of the night and got going a little late this morning; So I was unable to post my morning direction from Scripture. Here is what I have been dwelling on.

1 Cor. 13:1-8

In just a few words describe “love…does not dishonor others.”

I have been running so fast I have not had time to post these particular segments of Lillie-Put in a while.

These are some meditations I am sharing with our Wednesday night, Digging Deeper Discussion Groups.

I would love to hear your thoughts on these meditations…

Love never fails. 1 Cor. 13:1-8

In one or two words describe “not proud”.

Thankful Thursdays is one of seven weekly posts at Lillie-Put dedicated to bringing thanks to the throne of Jesus for all He has done.

Are you a child of the One True King? If not you can be. Pray with me now!

Dear Jesus,

I know you are the One True King and I give my life to you now. Please turn my life around and make it something that will last forever as a blessing to your kingdom. I trust you Jesus to forgive my failings and to change me into something You will be pleased with!

Amen.
