Lord my God, if I have done this
    and there is guilt on my hands—
if I have repaid my ally with evil
    or without cause have robbed my foe—
then let my enemy pursue and overtake me;
    let him trample my life to the ground
    and make me sleep in the dust.

Psalm 7:3-5

How comfortable would you be to pray this prayer today? Is there anything you need to do about that?

Evening Meditation 6-2-16

Go away, all you who do evil,
    for the Lord has heard my weeping.
The Lord has heard my plea;
    the Lord will answer my prayer.
10 May all my enemies be disgraced and terrified.
    May they suddenly turn back in shame. Psalm 6:8-10

Here David knows his prayer will be answered. Do you think there was a waiting time between the knowing and the fulfillment? Is that how it works in your life?

Mid Afternoon Meditation 6-2-16

Return, O Lord, and rescue me.
    Save me because of your unfailing love.
For the dead do not remember you.
    Who can praise you from the grave?[b]

I am worn out from sobbing.
    All night I flood my bed with weeping,
    drenching it with my tears.
My vision is blurred by grief;
    my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies.

Psalm 6:4-7

Have you ever been so overwhelmed with grief you could not function? How does God help in those moments?

Thankful Thursdays 6-2-16

My life vision statement is to create a culture of worship around myself. To that end I have dedicated much of my space here at Lillie-put to drawing attention to the Lord Jesus Christ. Thankful Thursdays is one of seven weekly posts dedicated specifically to the worship of Jesus Christ.

Please join me by adding your own song or testimony of thanksgiving to the blogosphere and linking us to it in the comments section below.
