My favorite photos change almost as frequently as my idea of the perfect pizza. I will show you two of my newest favs and they are tied directly to an adventure I took with my daughter Amanda on Saturday.

The tardus was visiting Montague MA on the same day Amanda and I went on our latest Book Crawl.

Share Your World 2016 Week 28

share-your-world2

As some of you know Cee took the week of from Share Your World last week; So week 27 is as nonexistent at the 13th floor in some hotels. But here we are at week 28 answering her 5 sharing questions once again.

YOU CAN SEE EVERYONE’S ANSWER TO THE QUESTIONS HERE.

Here are Cee’s five weekly sharing questions and my answers.

What is your earliest memory?

My earliest memory is a recurring nightmare I had when I was a little boy. We lived in a great big Victorian set into a hillside. The house was grey and black and to this day gives me the heebie-jeebies when I drive past it.

My parents rented one side and another family rented the other side. Anyway I remember dreaming many nights in my crib that two giant fat ghosts would pop through the wall beside my crib (yes I was that young) and sit on me. The ghosts were men with big noses always wearing Hawaiian shirts. Crazy I know but I remember the dreams vividly.

What was the last photo you took with your phone?

Have you ever danced in the rain?

No I am not a big fan of getting my feet wet.

What is the longest you have gone without sleep?

36 hours. Brutal!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful that our team at Cornerstone had a wonderful teamwork training led by our leadership coach, Paul Hackett. What a brilliant guy! I am looking forward to the second part of the training next Monday and then I am on vacation!

Share Your World 2016 Week 26

Now here are her questions and my answers:

What’s your most memorable (good or bad) airplane flight?

I love flying. I think my favorite flight though was aboard Iceland Air heading to the Netherlands. Flying into Keflavik was simply amazing. It felt like I was flying over the moon.

How many bones, if any, have you broken?

I am one of those fortunate few who have never broken a bone (where’s the nearest piece of wood to knock on). I have sprained my ankle quite a few times badly enough to need crutches but no breaks.

If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? (guest can be dead, alive, famous or someone you just know) Adam (first question “What were you thinking?”),  Elijah ( First question, “Was the chariot of fire hot?”), Jeremiah ( First question, “How did you keep it together when  no one would listen?”)

Make a Currently List: What are you reading, watching, listening to, eating, needing, wanting, and missing right now?

I am currently reading: Psalms, Nearer To God: How To Pray With Prophetic Power,  The Floating Island

I am currently watching:

 and

This very moment I am listening too:

Needing, wanting, missing? Nothing I am content and replete.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful that I got to preach on Sunday last…you can find the sermon in excerpted form on my sermons page entitled “RUN?”

I am looking forward to going to the zoo on July 4th with my daughter and trying out my new camera.

Yes. I have learned to do most social things as a single now.

Complete this sentence:  Never In My Life Have I….

Wow! There are so many “nevers”. Never in my life have I jumped out of a plane. Never in my life have I bungie jumped. Never in my life have I been on a cruise. And never in my life have I desperately wanted to do any of those things. 🙂

Share Your World 2016 Week 23

Holy Cow! I posted Share Your World week 21 last night thinking that was the latest, and here I am reading posts from week 23. Am I out of the loop or what?!? Well it’s time to come out of the past and step into the present. So here for your reading pleasure is my time of sharing my answers to Cee’s week 23 questions. Maybe sometime in the future I will go back and answer questions from week 22 just for fun!

share-your-world2

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

My father owned a diner in our hometown; So one of my first jobs was dish washing, but dad was big on personal responsibility and earning your own way and so I actually started delivering papers when I was nine. I had 126 daily papers. I think that job in some ways was harder than dish washing. I have to say I loved paper delivery so much I went back to it as an adult and ran two circulation offices before becoming a Pastor.

What is your favorite month of the year?

November.

What three things in nature do you find most beautiful?

I love the ocean, waterfalls and gardens.

List at least five of your favorite spices? (excluding salt and pepper)

I am a big fan of basil. I love oregano and garlic. I also love cumin and corriander.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Since I already used the vacation thing on week 21 I guess I will have to get a little more specific. I am so glad I got to read two books in the fantasy series I am currently working my way through.

This week I am looking forward to meeting with my friends from the Winchendon Enhancement Comittee and beginning to plan the Fall Fest and the programming that will go on the soon to be acquired Ingleside property which has been two years in the works.

Yes I can but I would rather call Triple A

It’s time to get my sharing of the world done today as the rest of the week is filling up fast.

share-your-world2

I have been doing this challenge since shortly after I started blogging and it is one of the activities I hate to miss. Share Your World has been a wonderful way to get to know people across the blogosphere. In fact I met many of my current followers through this forum.

Let me encourage you, if you are new to blogging or even thinking of trying it, add Cee’s five questions to your weekly regimen.

Now here are the five questions of the week and my answers:

When do you feel most connected with others?

Oh my! This is a hard question there are so many wonderful connections life has afforded me: Sunday service, church growth groups, family activities, music and arts groups, blogging….I think though I would have to say I feel most connected when I am in the small group setting at church. It is there that many of my really deep conversations can begin.

What daily habit would you like to introduce to your life?

Oh that is easy. I need to start playing the guitar to get ready for summer camp.

What one mini-little-adventure would you like to have in the coming week?

I am looking forward to going to the movies to see XMEN Apocalypse and Alice Through the Looking Glass. I might make it a double header. I haven’t done that in thirty years or so.

List  things or events that changed your Life: It could be as simple as a book or meeting a certain person?

Meeting Jesus

Being called into the ministry at a worship concert

Getting married

Going to Bible college

Entering Ministry

Having children

Getting divorced

Writing a book

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful that our Pentecost services were well attended and people were baptized in the Holy Spirit. I am looking forward to going to our Network Council next week (I don’t imagine I will be sharing my world again until I have returned from that).

Share Your World 2016 Week 19

It is hard to believe that in just another month or so we will be half way through 2016!

That still gives us lots of time to SHARE OUR WORLDS THIS YEAR.

This week Cee has given us five fun and challenging questions to spring board off from into the great pool of sharing. You can click the link above to see what others shared. Here are Cee’s question and my answers.

You win a pet monkey but this isn’t just any old monkey. It can do one trick for you whenever you want from getting a pop out of the fridge to washing your hair. What would be the trick?

My monkey can totally fix anything that is broken. He is a very smart monkey and he is starting with the lights in my kitchen. All right…all right I will hire a certified electrician. Sheesh!

What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today?

I took a thirty minute walk and a nap. I am trying to make sure I fit those two things into my schedule everyday no matter how busy I am.

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

I like black. I hear it’s slimming.

Complete this sentence:  When I travel I love to….

go at a nice relaxed pace. I hate going on journeys that are full of rushing and stress. In my  mind there is nothing worse than going on a vacation and coming back to work more stressed out than when you left.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful my sister got off to The Netherlands and arrived safely. She made a friend at the farm she is going to be living on.

This week I am looking forward to getting some of the brush burned in my back yard.

Share Your World 2016 Week 18

share-your-world2

Yep! It is that time of the week again, the time when Cee asks us five questions and we share our world’s with readers by answering them!

You can find a whole world of answers by clicking HERE.

Before you click there though check out my answers to Cee’s questions below.

Who was your best friend in elementary school?

I had two best friends in elementary school: Steve Shepherd and Steve Courtemanche. We all lived around the corner from each other and would play just about every afternoon on the steep hill behind Steve C’s house.

What things could people do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?

On my worst days the prayers of people have touched me the most.

If you could make a 15 second speech to the entire world, what would you say?

Jesus is the only Savior of the world. He loves you and wants to help you. Let Him in through prayer.

Would you rather be an amazing dancer or an amazing singer?

Oh, I love being able to sing. It is a wonderful gift and I wouldn’t give it up for anything. That said I would love it if I could actually move to a rhythm without looking like one of the Barba Poppas

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful to God for helping my sister get back to her mission in the Netherlands!

This week I am looking forward to having some time to get the office she was using for the last 20 months set in order and getting some of my paperwork out of my bedroom back in to its proper place.

Share Your World 2016 Week 17

share-your-world2

Blogging has taught me that writing is really about two things: words and relationships, not necessarily in that order.

For that reason SHARE YOUR WORLD has become one of my favorite posts to write. It is an opportunity every week to answer five simple questions using the written word and to connect those words to people around the world.

You can discover more about sharing your world by traveling to CEE’S SITE USING THIS LINK.

Here are this week’s SHARE YOUR WORLD questions and my answers:

When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?

I almost always use pen. I find pencil smudges and fades too quickly for my taste. I like a sense of permanency. That said my friend Jody is always after me about how I write on my sheet music in pen. It makes him sort of crazy because in his opinion music should only ever be written 0n in pencil.

What’s your choice: jigsaw, word, maze or numeric puzzles?

Oh I am so bad at puzzles! I get so impatient with them. My mother loves crossword puzzles and does one everyday. Sometimes I help her with words but I don’t think I would have the patience to do a whole puzzle of any kind by myself.

Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself?

Short hair is my choice. My hair tends to get puffy and now that I am losing more off the top, letting it grow long makes me look just weird.

List five some of your favorite blogs.

This is a really hard question. I have so many favs. But here are five I frequent on a very regular basis:

Cee’s Photography

Another Red Letter Day

Jennifer Nichole Wells

Becoming the Oil and the Wine

Artist Day Apart

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful I had the opportunity to preach on Sunday morning at Cornerstone Church. This week has been really busy and I haven’t even had time to post the transcripts of that sermon but it was so much fun to preach.

I am looking forward to a night off tonight (last one for a while). I think I will go to the movies. I might see this
