One Word Photo Challenge: Bokeh

This week Jennifer has given us one word to emulate and that word is BOKEH.

According to my words search here is the definition of Bokeh

bo·keh
bōˈkā/
noun

PHOTOGRAPHY
  1. the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, especially as rendered by a particular lens.
“a quick, visual survey of the foreground and background bokeh of a variety of lenses”

What do you know I learned a new word today!

Check out the underlined link for more “BOKEH” pictures.

OWPC: BALANCE

It is past time to join in on Jennifer’s One Word Photo Challenge: Balance, especially since the new challenge starts today. But I have two photos I just had to share with everyone. If you would like to see other well balanced photos check out Jennifer’s site HERE

One Word Photo Challenge: Background

I am one day away from the new One Word Photo Challenge. The one Jennifer issued last week was entitled: BACKGROUND.

Here are my Background photos:

Sometimes our backgrounds are just frames to hang life’s pictures on.

IRISH CHURCH MISSION

Sometimes a little background helps explain a person’s story.

Then sometimes the background is what makes our subject more than just a pile of rocks.

I guess sometimes the background is really the point.

One Word Photo Challenge: Armadillos Float!

This week the one word we have to depict is ARMADILLO.

Hey now! I live in Massachusetts the closest armadillo to me is…well really far away! I was sure I wouldn’t be able to come up with anything and then I spent some time looking through the characteristics of armadillos.

DID YOU KNOW THAT ARMADILLOS DO NOT SWIM? THEY FLOAT!!!

JUST LIKE THESE FOLKS…

AND IF YOU TAKE ONE LETTER OUT OF ARMADILLO AND SPIN SOME OF THE LETTERS AROUND IT BECOMES AMARILLO WHICH EVERYONE KNOWS IS THE ARMADILLOS FAVORITE COLOR, YELLOW! 🙂

Okay if that is too much of a stretch for you can check out better armadillo photos by clicking the underlined link at the top of the page. 😉

One Word Photo Challenge: Ant

So this week we have been asked to depict the word ANT by Jennifer at O.W.P.C.

You can see how others portrayed the concept by clicking the underlined link above.

I came at it from two directions:

First is our common perspective.

Here I am looking at all the little ants below….
