Ferocious Pt. 3

100_3338

As we launch into our meditations on the Psalms I am filling out my thoughts regarding our last meditations concerning I Corinthians 13.

I wrote a series called Ferocious several years ago on the love chapter and I am choosing this moment to repost those thoughts. I am actually away at a Ministers convention this week not in the Netherlands, but the thoughts are the same wherever I may be in the world.

Ferocious Pt. 3

Ferocious Pt. 1

In our meditations here at Lillie-Put we have just worked through I Corinthians 13:4-8. As we were working through the daily thoughts it came to me that perhaps it was time to revisit a study I did on this topic several years ago.

Here is part one of the study called FEROCIOUS.

P.S. don’t mind the notes about the Netherlands. This was last posted back when I was on a trip to that beautiful country. This year I am going nowhere. I am paying my taxes instead. 😦

One Love

This week the daily post has called us to show ONE LOVE in photos. Now there’s a challenge I can rise to. See how others rose to the challenge by clicking the underlined link.

Here is my interpretation of ONE LOVE

“But the man who is not afraid to admit everything that he sees to be wrong with himself, and yet recognizes that he may be the object of God’s love precisely because of his shortcomings, can begin to be sincere. His sincerity is based on confidence, not in his own illusions about himself, but in the endless, unfailing mercy of God.”
Thomas Merton, No Man Is an Island

“If you have never known the power of God’s love, then maybe it is because you have never asked to know it – I mean really asked, expecting an answer.”
Frederick Buechner, The Magnificent Defeat

“God is the creator of love. He demonstrated His love to you through the sacrificial death of His Son. The closer you draw to God the more you will demonstrate your love for others by becoming a living sacrifice by putting others before yourself.”
DeWayne Owens

The Road Through Romans: Love

100_5431

Now that we are finished with our conversation on the GOD CONSPIRACY.  We can get back to our study through the Book Of Romans. If you recall we have been discussing the attributes of God from the stand point of Romans 1:20.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

If you have missed any of our discussions on these attributes you can find them on THE ROAD THROUGH ROMANS PAGE.

Today we are going to speak about God’s attribute of love. Watch this.

So where do we see the attribute of love revealed in the creation? Well, while the power of sin has done so much to warp our ability to recognize the qualities of God in the creation, these attributes cannot be blotted out. Of all God’s attribute love is the strongest. Its imprint can be seen all throughout the creation, but perhaps nowhere is it seen more clearly than in a parent’s sacrificial love for a child.

Our buzz words this week are | WALK | OLD | PROMISE | VIEW | BEAT |

This week’s offering is a tanka.

Tanka poetry rhythm is  5 – 7 – 5 – 7 – 7 in one stanza. Many times tanka poetry focuses around the theme of love and relationships.

Let me ask, who do you think is the narrator in this poem and who is he/she speaking to? Who else could it be?
