This day begins as we reach back into our heritage to proclaim the greatness of our God. Will you join us in sharing one of the great songs of the faith in a post of your own? Let’s link arms across the blogosphere and create a culture of worship. I love this new take on an old hymn I used to sing as a youngster.

This post is in response to THE DAILY POST’S WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE: STATE OF MIND.
I wish I could do this in one picture, but honestly my state of mind has been shifting like the Cape Cod Coast line in a hurricane. If I was living according to my state of mind rather than by Christ’s state of grace I would probably be half-crazed by now!
Here are the many faces of Lillie-Put this week.
Believe it or not this is not “angry Lillie” I guess I’ll call this one “Passionate Preacher”. (Thanks Zach Lemieux for that capture)

It is true that fear causes us to become hyper-focused on the thing we are afraid of. Most fears cause us to think on the thing we fear and the more we think about that thing the stronger our sense of torment becomes.
The fear of the Lord, however, is different. Fearing God will cause us to become hyper-focused on God. We will find our thoughts becoming consumed with God when once we fear Him. However, the more we think about God and focus on Him the more peaceful we become. Torment ends and rest commences!
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you.” Isa. 26:3

I am so thankful for the privilege of serving God in a church that is alive with the power of God. I am thankful for my Pastor, Barry Risto, who does so much to move our congregation into the plan of God.

I am thankful for my fellow staff members Pastor Brad Hackett and Pastor Donna Slocum who work with me and Pastor Risto in the ministry of the gospel. There is nothing better than a good team!
