Weekly Photo Challenge: Layers Up Layers

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Intricate.”

Intricacy is a complicated topic…

Maybe what we are talking about is the intricacy of human craftsmanship. Our human penchant for detail.

Or maybe it’s the crazy support systems we use to keep our world together.

No one can deny the intricacies of a Bach played on a piano-forte.

But in the end nothing rivals the intricacies of life made and given by God.

Cee’s Black & White: What Shape are You In?

This week Cee has asked us to come up with Geometric Shapes for her black & white photo challenge. Click the underlined words to see how others met the challenge.

050714 black and white (4)I have learned a few things from shapes about life.

100_4816

For instance in life round is a pretty common shape!

100_5178

While we would all like it to be a little more linear, the older we get the more we realize, this thing called life just doesn’t fit in a box.

100_4883

Truth be told, the more we insist on controlling the shape of every detail in our lives, the more complicated our lives become.

100_5470

Sometimes those things in our lives which appear to be the weakest offer us the most support through the troubled waters.

100_5430

And, if you wait long enough and keep taking the bends in the road, eventually life does come full circle.

One Colour!

Ailsa has challenged us to find one color travel photos.

Prayer is a strong wall and fortress of the church; it is a goodly Christian weapon.

Anyone who is to find Christ must first find the church. How could anyone know where Christ is and what faith is in him unless he knew where his believers are?

For years I thought my assignment or the Church’s assignment was to articulate the Gospel and nothing more. Now I believe that if we don’t support the verbal expression of the Gospel with physical demonstration of compassion, we are not imitating Jesus.

So Cee has challenged us to stay away from Sepia and B&W shots with this one but everything else is fair game as long as it’s somewhere around 90% one color. Okeedokee Cee!
