Share Your World 2014 Week 42

share-your-world2

I am so glad to be getting back into the swing of things now that I am home from vacation! It is once again time to do one of my favorite things which is to share my world with Cee! Each week Cee asks her reader’s four questions and a bonus. Our answers go out into the blogosphere and tell the world out there a little bit more about who we are (or aren’t in some cases).

Do me a favor and when you have finished here head on over to Cee’s blog and see what her other contributors have written. I’ll meet you there!

Share Your World – 2014 Week 42

Here are this week’s questions and my answers:

What would be your preference, awake before dawn or awake before noon?

It has been something like thirty years since I have slept until noon. I am pretty sure I couldn’t do it  anymore even if I wanted to, at least not with this forty-seven year old bladder; So I would say awake before dawn and throw in an afternoon nap! 🙂

If you could choose between Wisdom and Luck, which one would you pick?

Wisdom is more precious than rubies according to the Bible and in obtaining it there is life that lasts. Meanwhile luck… well it doesn’t last forever even when it comes in good long strings. I’ll take the everlasting quality in healthy doses.Wisdom if you please!

If you were given the opportunity for free skydiving lessons would you take them? Why or why not?

I think I would probably not for the same reason I don’t ride horses. I have a little too much weight on the frame and I am afraid the horse or in this case the parachute would not support me. If I am afraid to fall off a horse and hurt myself because I am too heavy for the horse why on earth would I not be afraid to fall out of a plane held aloft by what amount to an oversized diaper?

Is the glass half empty or half full? What is in the glass?

The glass is half full. It has ambrosia in it (the nectar of the gods). Sometimes that nectar is sweet, sometimes it’s sour but it all works out tasty in the end according to Romans 8:28. I have drunk almost half the glass by this point in life but the good news is that when I finish with this glass I get another full one according to John 3:16

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful to have been involved in performing a wedding service with my lead pastor Barry Risto in Swampscott MA last weekend. The groom was a young man I have worked with as a minister since he was 11 years old. What a privilege! This weekend I am excited to be hosting, along with the other C.cada artists, our fourth annual art show. This year we will display close to two hundred pieces.

Share Your World – 2014 Week 41

We are almost through another year of sharing. If you have fallen behind in learning and sharing you can catch up by following the link above. Come on give it a try! It’s a whole lot of fun!

Here are this week’s sharing questions from Cee….

Would you rather take pictures or be in pictures?

Since I just got back from a two-week trip to Ireland and took 850 pictures of which I am in exactly two I would have to say I like taking pictures (although I did have my daughter take pictures of me with her camera to prove I was really there).

Us on the way to Ireland.

Us on the way to Ireland.

What did you most enjoy doing this past week?

I think finishing up our tour of the Emerald Isle and flying back to resume working life.

What is your greatest extravagance?

I would have to say my greatest extravagance is books. I love to buy and read books.

Which letter of the alphabet describes you best?

M for “ME”

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am really grateful that I got to go to Ireland with my daughter Amanda. This week  I am so looking forward to beginning two services at our church and the C.cada art show this next week being held at our church. Come and visit us if you have the notion.

Here are my answers:

Did you ever get lost?

I don’t get lost often but when I do it is usually a doozy. Once when the kids were little we took a week at a local campground. I think Joe was probably three and a half which would put Amanda about 2 and a half. I decided to take them on a nature walk around the pond on grounds. Somehow I got off the trail and ended up in apple orchard some three miles from the campsite. I think we would still be walking the road back today if some kind passers-by had not stopped to give us a lift back to the camp.

Who was your best friend in elementary school?

My best friend in elementary school was Eddie Murdock. We lost touch after middle school as he went to a different high school than I did.

Since the news television season has started in the US, list three favorite TV shows.

I am really enjoying the new show Scorpion, Agents of Shield is a favorite from last season and of course the new Dr. Who.

If you were a mouse in your house in the evening, what would you see your family doing?

You would probably see us watching the new television season or maybe playing with the dogs.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful for the wonderful turn out for the Toy Town Fall Fest and the groundswell of support that was shown for the Ingleside Makerspace Project. About 2000 people came out to see the property we are hoping the town will buy and turn into makerspace.

I am grateful the festival is done and now I can get ready to leave for Ireland. Thursday here we come!

Go to Cee’s  page and see how some of our other friends have answered the questions.

Here are my answers:

If you could be a tree or plant, what would you be?

I think I would be a giant redwood. As I understand it these trees may be the biggest things in the forest but they have very shallow roots and the only way they stand up to the storms of life is by interlocking their roots with other redwood trees. If I had to be a plant I would like to be one in fellowship with other plants.

If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do?

Oh gosh that is a hard one but right about now I would have them take an hour a day to get all the projects around the house done that are being neglected because of my fall work schedule.

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?

Assuming I could still buy and eat any other kind of food I wanted I would opt for an endless supply of coffee from around the world.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

Since my dad owned a restaurant one of my first money-making jobs was dishwasher and bus boy.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful to have had another wonderful weekend with my C.cada friends and this week I am looking forward to the Toy Town Fall Fest. It’s planning crunch time!

Share Your World 2014 Week 37

It’s time once again to give you a glimpse into my world with Cee’s help of course

share-your-world2

Broaden your own world’s horizons by visiting:

http://ceenphotography.com/2014/09/15/share-your-world-2014-week/

And while you’re at it  share your world with the rest of us by answering these questions in a blog post of your own.

The questions are…

List three pet peeves.

1. alligators in my bed

2. sunspots

3. people who mix liver into fruit salad.

Actually I tried to answer this seriously, but I thought of the people who perpetrate these pet peeves and so I thought it just best to keep the whole thing to myself.

What makes you unique?

Why my pet peeves of course! 🙂

Actually I think the best answer is…God makes me unique. I have a relationship with my Savior God which is intensely personal and unique to me and Him. The good news is that each man and woman in the world can have a unique relationship with God just like mine (that would seem to be the very definition of not unique but that’s the thing with God, He defies definition)

Would be your ideal birthday present, and why?

Lately I have been craving a massage because of my intensely sore and tired muscles. Someone else wrote a day at the spa as their ideal birthday present and I think I could go for that a mud bath and a hot rock treatment right about now.

Which way does the toilet paper roll go? Over or under?

I solved this whole issue by breaking the toilet paper holder off the wall. So currently the toilet paper goes sideways as it sits on the shelf. And I wasn’t even thinking of my pet peeves when I broke it.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so grateful that just this morning I got up and did a stretching video. it is nice to be back to exercising and I look forward to exercising at least 5 times over the next week.

Watching the next generation rise up gratifies!

Yesterday my oldest daughter did a bang up job planning and running her younger sister’s wedding shower. I got to see my little girl in her wedding dress! And then I went to a concert put on by a young man I literally watched grow up in our church. I am glad to see those to whom I will one day pass the torch become powerful in their own right!

Share Your World 2014 Week 36

I missed Sharing my world last week because I was away in the Berkshires leading worship and caregiving for guests at the New England Special Touch Getaway! So this week I am answering question for two weeks to catch myself up. When you have finished sharing a bit of my world find out about other worlds by going to:

http://ceenphotography.com/2014/09/08/share-your-world-2014-week-36/share-your-world2

Let’s start with this week’s questions from Cee:

Do you prefer reading coffee table books (picture), biographies, fiction, non-fiction, educational?

My first book is the Bible. I read several chapters daily (that’s non-fiction in case there might be any confusion) After that I am a big fiction reader. I am currently fascinated by anything to do with the English royal lineage and I am particularly stuck in the War of the Roses.

What is your biggest fear or phobia? (no photos please)

I dislike new things and change. That means currently I am being HUGELY stretched because everything in my life is new experiences.

What is your favorite cheese?

I love Gouda.

What is your favorite month of the year?

I like November. It is my birthday month and Thanksgiving and  this year we will have my daughter’s wedding in November!

Now as to last week’s questions:

Have your blogging goals changed?

When I started blogging on “Reinventing the We’ll” I thought I would be talking about the empty nest. I ended up doing a whole lot with photography and of course sharing the Christian message. I also never expected to get so involved in the blogging community. That has been a happy surprise!

If you were to perform in the circus, what would you do?

I think I would be a clown.

If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 18 what advice would you give yourself?  Or if you are younger than 25 what words of wisdom would you like to tell yourself at age 45?

I think I would tell myself to take better advantages of the opportunities that presented themselves. To be more proactive and less reactive. Time passes quickly and some things only present themselves for a brief period.

What is your favorite comfort snack food?

I have to have my daily nutty buddy with a hot cup of coffee.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am so thankful for the opportunity I had to help my friends at Special Touch Ministry. The work we did there will last into eternity. I was privileged to baptize three of our camp guests. The joy each guest expressed coming out of the waters of baptism is not something I will soon forget.100_4726
