Moving A Season
April 17.
Spring
Was called for almost a month ago.

Flowers
And Showers
Are supposed to be our lot now.

But
I Am
In the storehouses of the snow.
This place
Says, “no”
To the new.

Old
Wineskins
Die hard,
Even in the temples which worship new growth.
When
The Mystery gets used to what was
Spring
Cannot find its Space.

But
I Am
Not
Staying in the storehouses of the snow,
Insists
“Wine flow,
In
Daffodils
And lilacs.

Survive.
Crack
Those old
Casks and finally
Burst Forth!”

Cee’s CCYL 8 Challenge is all about the diagonal lines. I’ve borrowed a line from Harry Potter for the title but the rest is all about those corner to corner lines.

Mid Afternoon Meditation 4-17-20

Praise the Lord.[a]
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
2 Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the Lord
or fully declare his praise?
3 Blessed are those who act justly,
who always do what is right.
4 Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people,
come to my aid when you save them,
5 that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may share in the joy of your nation
and join your inheritance in giving praise. Psalm 106 1-5
What does the prosperity and joy of God’s chosen ones look like?

Life By the Bells
How are you structuring your life now?
Many years ago, after taking a course called 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, I started planning out my week using an agenda. Over the years I have adapted a shorthand that helps keep me on track throughout the week. My agenda looks like this.

It’s pretty simple really and covers everything from sleep to daily exercise and even prayer.
I found that just writing down what I planned to do in a weekly agenda did not help me to do the things I planned. The agenda helped me to keep track of my meetings ( which as a pastor is important, you don’t want to be missing funerals or weddings), but as far as the big rocks went (the disciplines of everyday living I valued like prayer or exercise) just writing them on a weekly to do calendar did not help me prioritize them. I found it too easy…

Share Your World From 4-13-20
Well I am only three days late IN SHARING MY WORLD. This is the challenge where our hostess, Melanie, asks four or five questions. In answering them we, her contributors, share our worlds. Get it?
Anyway you can find out more about Share Your World by clicking the link above and going to Melanie’s site.
Here the questions and my answers:

What do you do to get rid of stress?
I pray a lot. I guess that means I must carry a lot of stress. Oh and I nap. I love naps.
In the past people were buried with the items they would need in the afterlife, what would you want buried with you so you could use it in the afterlife?
I am planning on getting new everything in the afterlife so I won’t be needing the broken stuff I had here.
What’s the opposite of a koala? (this is strictly for fun. I know what I came up with as an answer, but it was nonsensical. Alaok. See? It’s okay to pass on this one too if you want)
Let’s see Koala’s look warm and fuzzy so……

What’s the creepiest tech out there? (My interpretation of “tech” is app or program. If you know what “tech” is supposed to mean, hey! Great! Educate us.
This looks really good for the purposes it describes, but the idea that all our currency and economies will be controlled by satellites owned and operated by who? Well that just sounds very weird and super Terminatorish. I am glad they did not call it SkyNet.
GRATITUDE IS AN ATTITUDE
What method are you using to find your smile right now? Please explain in detail so others might utilize the same ideas. Some bloggers have shared a daily (weekly sometimes) method that they are using to keep their spirits up right now. I’d love to hear from anyone who does and is successful at it! Have a great week and stay safe!
As I said I pray a lot. I am also connecting with a lot of people on line. Finally I have planned myself a fairly rigid schedule of activity: praying, exercising, housework, church work, art and writing….and of course eating.
If that doesn’t work I watch these:
