Vindicate me, my God,
and plead my cause
against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me from those who are
deceitful and wicked.
Psalm 43:1
What are some things we do that keep us from being delivered from people who would hurt us?

Vindicate me, my God,
and plead my cause
against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me from those who are
deceitful and wicked.
Psalm 43:1
Seems the obvious thing would be to continue associating with those who would hurt us–God can hardly deliver us if we keep choosing their company, no? And there’s living a “high-risk” lifestyle, with all which that may entail… If God doesn’t call us to dark alleys, it would be wisdom to avoid them.
Really good answer. I think one of the greatest addictions in our culture (maybe even greater than drugs or alcohol) is the addiction to unhealthy relationships.
People other than myself –who can’t be alone, think they’ll shrivel up if they’re not connected to some other person–will take any relationship, even unhealthy ones, over and over, rather than be alone.
I have met many.
Me too, it’s sad–especially in cases where an unhappy spouse hunts up a replacement before notifying current one that divorce is around the corner…I find that appalling.
