Morning Direction From Scripture 1-6-17

September-30-2011-02-59-28-4528ec04676fd7

Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

22 This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. Psalm 35:21-23

Everyone of us can fall into the trap of being a fault finder. What kind of things make you prone to fault-finding? What can you do to avoid fault-finding?

Evening Meditation 1-5-17

Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me, and said, Aha, aha, our eye hath seen it.

22 This thou hast seen, O Lord: keep not silence: O Lord, be not far from me.

23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. Psalm 35:21-23

How do you deal with people who are always finding fault?

Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

20 For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against them that are quiet in the land.

Psalm 35:19,20

Have you ever had people in your life who refuse to keep peace with you even though you are just trying to stay “quiet in the land”? What is the best way to deal with such situations?

I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause. Psalm 35:18.19

Is praising God among people easy or difficult for you? What makes it so?

Share Your World Week #1 2017!!

Happy first week of 2017 everyone! I am kicking the year off by Sharing My World with you all and I hope that this will be a year of great sharing.

CEE MAKES SHARING OUR WORLDS EASY BY ASKING US FIVE QUESTIONS EVERY WEEK. JUST CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW THE REST OF THE WORLD ANSWERED.

Here are the New Year’s first questions and my answers.

Would you prefer to receive a unicycle, bicycle, tricycle or motorcycle?

I would like to receive a unicycle. Not because I think I could ride it. Some days I can barely walk without falling over (and I don’t even drink). And frankly anything with a  little triangular seat  makes me go a little cross eyed with painful thoughts. So no I wouldn’t think of riding a unicycle…or a bicycle…or a tricycle. Frankly a motorcycle is just a really fast vibrating version of any of those aforementioned things (my legs are going numb just thinking about it). BUT  it would be cool to say, “Oh I have a unicycle.”

What is one thing you’d like to accomplish this year?

I would like to publish.

What was one of the highlights of 2016 for you?

2016 was probably the busiest year I have ever had period. It was a great year of accomplishment, but it was also the year when I crossed the threshold into what I think is going to be a quieter more reflective and perhaps more creative period of life. At least that is one of the commitments I am making to the Lord and myself having come through 2016. I guess that’s not as much a highlight as it is a life lesson but there ya’ go!

Would you prefer to fly a kite or fly in a hot air balloon?

Hot air balloon definitely. Maybe this is the year.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful for a quiet New Year and a wonderful visit with my daughter Melanie on New Year’s Eve.

This week I am grateful for an opportunity to preach a message on fasting and prayer at Cornerstone Church. The message is entitled, “Truth, Justice and the heavenly Way.”

Mid Afternoon Meditation 1-3-17

I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.

15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions. Psalm 35:14-17

The word darling is the word yä·khēd’ and it means,

only, only one, solitary, one

  1. only, unique, one

  2. solitary

  3. (TWOT) only begotten son

It is translated as “darling” twice in the old testament and as “only” 6 times. The NLT translates this bit as “save my own life from the lions”. What do you think David is saying by using this word?
