Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.
14 Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27: 13,14
What can you do to increase your confidence in the Lord today?

Hmmmm … be brave and courageous.
Then it says to be patient.
Being brave and courageous means the same thing. This is what the passage is saying, “Don’t lose heart or give up but wait patiently for Lord. That’s what it is saying basically. I hope that helped. 🙂
The answer was a good one! The questions are geared to help all of us ruminate over the Scripture itself and to allow the Spirit to focus our concentration on what it needs to be concentrated on. For me being brave is not about a lack of fear it is moving into what God has for you no matter what you feel. It is a decision to obey the Lord even against your feelings and go toward His goals.
Yes it did.
Thank you! I don’t know why but I never imagined patience having anything to do with courage or bravery.
It was my pleasure.

Your welcome
I left you a response to this on the thread .
Thanks Joseph!
Do you think the two things are tied together?
Most definitely, courageous is being brave. The Bible, especially in the New Testament uses a lot of synonyms to make the message much more clear and stronger. I liked what you said:
“For me being brave is not about a lack of fear it is moving into what God has for you no matter what you feel”
The Hebrew word for brave is “chazaq” which in a literal translation is the word strong and means: to be or grow firm or strong, strengthen.
The Hebrew word for courageous is “amets” which means: to be stout, strong, bold, alert.
The passage is conveying that by doing God’s will, like you said above, reading, praying and living according to His Word one is being strengthened and alert for any spiritual danger. these two words play a role in helping the believer to wait patiently for God’s timing.
This is excellent reasoning. As we obey God, which for me usually starts with at least a bit of trepidation, our emotions come under subjection to the control of the Spirit and thereby we find the grace to stand and wait patiently for the Lord to accomplish His purposes through His commands to us.
Amen, that’s what I get from Psalms 27:14.
Yes I think so.
Perhaps David/God feels we need to be brave to endure uncertain times, to have patience in the unknown.
I think you are right “creatinghome”. It takes great courage sometimes to wait upon the Lord and not take matters into our own hands particularly when that concerns our righteousness and holy lifestyle. It is so easy to compromise in order to get things done when waiting is what the Lord wants from us.
First, that’s one of my fave verses–“I will see the Lord’s goodness while I’m here in the land of the living” (I used to believe I’d have to wait for Heaven…). The way to increase confidence is to remind myself of ALL that the Lord has already done for me, the times and ways He has come through, over and over again. I think it was last year that I was fretting about some situation, and God said to me, “Do you really think that the last great good thing I did for you was it, the last, that I’m done? NO Way!” After that I felt silly, but so reassured.
