My parents' home The Old Homestead

God works all things for good for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)

I was very fortunate growing up to have had a mother and father who loved me and my sisters very much and did all that they could to prepare us for the lives we would lead. My mother’s family was strongly Catholic, while my dad was a non-practicing Protestant. In those days, the Catholic Church would not marry a Catholic with a non-Catholic in the church proper. So my parents got married in the church vestibule. In addition, they both had to agree to raise any children they might as Catholics. So, I grew up in the Catholic Church. Morning Direction From Scripture 6-8-16

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory
    in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c]

You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e]
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their[g] feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth! Psalm 8

Why do you think this Psalm about the greatness of man begins and ends with praise to God?

Is the description in verse 6-8 a future thing or a now thing? What does that mean for now? What does that mean for the future?

Psalm 8:3,4

Where do you think man sits in the created order of things? How does that challenge how you think about yourself?
